Priorities vs. Social Life

The last few months have been really bad on my social life. Approx 3 months ago i started working at another facility. I have been putting in 110% since day one..I am starting to feel the effects. The mornings, leaving around 530 in the dark, and getting home around 730, again in the dark. I am so worn out when i get home, i do not have the energy to go out for a drink with the guys. My love life has slowly but surely swirled down the drain. I have only found my any form of contact is through blogland...How sad is that?

But here is the deal..I have decided to make my new years resolution about the purchasing of a home. I have spent the last few months just preparing for the upcoming months. I have rented a storage unit and started filling it with all the little things i would need to start out.

Is there a balance? Am i suffering from a unfulfilled idea and empty life? Damn i am so burned out........

u are so wrapped in materialistic concerns....
you are so fortunate.. enjoy your new flat. the lesson here is that material comfort gives nothing, look and find a good woman. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You need a break, kiddo! yes..there is a balance and you
need to claim it in your doesn't happen on it's own!

................and is NOT sad that you are here.
Understand that we are always right where we need and want
to be. This is serving you and others for you to be here or
you would not be here.

Congratulations on your decision about the home! Remember

Just a little food for thought.............
If you really want to be happy, nobody can stop you...

Starting a new job is more disruptive than most people think! It takes time to find your place & feel part of the new "culture" of your job & co-workers. The stress can be overwhelming & agree with those above who said you need to find a couple of extra hours just for yourself to recharge. What you might also need is some time in the sunlight. You mentioned that you go to work in the dark & get home in the dark. That causes "light deprevation" a medically recognized condition that causes depression & other conditions. If you can, try to get out in the sunlight during the day, like at lunchtime, even if for a half-hour, or volunteer to take the mail to the post office (or whatever) during the day to get out into the sun. You'll be amazed at the positive effect it will have on you! Hope this helps!
