Just for kicks

This was a question on the SUper IQ test:

The Super IQ Test
Question 5 of 57
5. Shirts on sale for 1/2 off have a red tag. Shirts on sale for 1/4 off have a blue tag. Stephen bought two red-tagged shirts originally priced at $10 each, and one blue-tagged shirt originally priced at $16. How much did he spend before taxes?

Now am I missing something or shouldn't $14 be a possible answer?

Yeah $14 would be a good wrong answer

2 red tag shirts at $10 each would be 10/2 = 5 each $10
1 blue tag shirt at $16 each would be 16/4 = 4 each + 12
(remember you aren't getting it for 75% off) $22

There are some that forget the subtraction part... I guess it is just
part of my evil nature to want an answer like that on a test.

good call dude!

Yeah, if the blue tag had been 3/4 off instead of 1/4 off, then you woulda had the right answer Don't worry math doesn't really count here.... spelling does though
