Mmm. Mexican Food...

OK...this post is in response to an inquiry about what I like about Mexican food...

First and foremost, I like being able to use a Mexican gangster voice when ordering Mexican food (of course I don't say it to the actual person associated with the food, that would be disrespectful, I just joka about it when their back is turned)
As if to say..."Hay mang! I could juse a chorizzo right about now mang!" I try to get the Scarface accent in there with the Spanglaish lingo...

Yea, I also like the food.
I like how when all ethnic foods come to Amerika they become a mainstreamed commercialized form of their origonal intent. Like Taco Bell...Are there any in Mexico? God I hope not. How about Chi-chi's....Actually I hear there are a lot of chi-chis in Mexico but they're not restraunts. Or are there any Olive Garden's in Italy. Probably not because to have an Olive garden you first need to build a 700 acre mall with a 1400 acre parking lot and an enetire township of commerce...then you can add an Olive Garden, Don Pablo's and Manchu Wok all next to eachother....Ahh, that's commerce cookin'...And something tells me that they don't have eyesore malls in Italy. I think they're into the more slow food eating food with flavor...But do you know how expensive that it? Besides, there isn't a Slow Foods aisle in the Walmart Supercenter so it must not be worth my time...

Ooh, speaking of which, Walmart is still open and they have those cases of frozen burritos on sale this week....Gotta go mang!!

I think he was just being having some fun.
Taco bells should be banned. Not a lover of Fast food cant imagine what fast Mexican food does to a person's insides

Glad you took the advice.

Loved the comment about chi-chis.
I would love to see jayR63's
*Nudge nudge jayR63 I am givin you a hard time*

Oh and they do have eye sore malls in Italy. But mainly in the north. Used to go to one all the time. Was always flooded with Yugoslavians...
Always hearing those beeps of the anti theft devices goin off....

I once went to Tokyo and there in big bold print was a sign claiming it was a actual Japanese place...
Kinda blew my mind...
Right in Tokyo...
Being Mr jolly green giant in a sea of small people...
In downtown Tokyo....
That the sushi house....
in front of me....
Was Japanese.....
Damn what never ceases to amaze even me...

Funny, funny post!

When I moved to Texas almost 18 years ago, my friends from around the country immediately started asking me about Mexican food, as if I had suddenly become an expert the minute I crossed the state line. They still turn to me as if they think I know. What we get here is mostly Tex-Mex and, as I understand it, not much like what you'd get in Mexico. In fact, the one and only time I ate in a restaurant in Mexico, in Piedras Negras, I had steak. And it was excellent.

If you want authentic Mexican food in Texas, it pays to have friends from Mexico who will invite you into their homes.

Great little place in my home town has the real deal. Folks who own came from Mexico about 8 years ago. I grew up with most of my friends being real Mexicans and grew to love the diet.
