Need visiting ideas for Montreal area!

As I explained in another post, I have an out of town visitor coming in less than 2 weeks.

I want some ideas for showing him around the city aside from the obvious.. I do intend to introduce him to his room correctly first but just want some ideas to take him out on the town afterwards.

So don't be shy and post some good places. I'd appreciate it!!!

Marcy,

how about a swing club, like le 1082 on Rosemount...

and for other appetites, Schwartz' Deli on the Main... Cote-St-Luc BBQ (any one)... The Rib'n'Reef on Decarie, or Gibby's if he has a good expense account...

and of course there's the east lookout on the mountain at night... window-shopping downtown...

I'll try to think of more... and if you need to assess anywhere, I happen to have a membership card for le 1082, and could bring you in to scout it...

Altruistically,

Alex xo

I had thought about the mountain of course and the window shopping!! 1082 would be good idea. I've gone once or twice. Was also thinking of Le Chateau.

There is the old Biddle's now "The house of Jazz" I wonder if it's change much since the name change. I'll definately keep in mind your suggestions Alex

More.. I want more.... lol

We had a great time at a MtTremblant spa called "scandinav". Don't have any ideas for closer or sexier things other than the obvious... heck!!!! you probably won't get out of the hotel room , have fun.

Well,

you have the botanic garden and insectarium, the aquarium, the Biodome, La Ronde, le Planetarium.

Then you have the club scene (quite a few) if your guest likes to dance. Haven't been to it personally (I'm still annoyed with them for not letting me in with my sneakers), but apparently La Boom is pretty good. I'm sure you need no introduction there.

For pool, I find that Skratch (on Pierrefond and Sources) has a nice atmosphere (not the cheapest place, but if its for an out of town visitor...).

There's also the Olympic Stadium, but last time I've been there was to see a baseball match with a baseball afficionado so I don't know what goes on in there anymore (might be worth investigating).

Of course, a walk through old Montreal is always nice during summer time...

Thats about what comes to mind right now...
