May he rest in peace...

Just two and a half weeks ago, my father was laid to rest in Veteran's Memorial Cemetary, here in Houston. He was a great man, and I loved him very much. I miss him even more. A jack of many trades, yet a master of none, he taught me a great deal about myself. The similarities between us were rather uncanny, as my mother often tells me. "Father, this one is for you..."

"The Life" by MIB

To know one’s self means to know how to live.
Seldom looking back with regrets…almost never.
Questions are beginning to surge I’m sure,
but you can’t let them cloud your mind.
Focus on the current task at hand,
instead of planning too far into the future.
Right now, at this moment is the only control

Take the time to fully enjoy the first time
for each and every experience.
People are always in such a rush to peak
whatever they have decided to covet for the week.
This way is effective, and genuinely efficient.
Yet within this method of madness,
many different things can be missed.
Savor every sip of that cool, refreshing beverage,
for it will not be there forever.
Indulge in every bite of that tasteful entrée,
for there will not always be more.
What I speak is, but knowledge acquired
from several points of view.
Indeed simple, but rather true.
Here endeth this rambling...

but I say it is just beginning..

Thanks, I needed some of these words.. for new questions were clouding my mind.. and swelling my heart.. and changing my future. Overwhelming me with emotion and dreams screaming to me to be fulfilled.. and just when I was ready to go insane your words lulling me to just live for the day, without worry of what is to come.
