How many chance do we get??

In my drunken daze...okie, so I had only 3-4 glasses of scotch...things just don't work any more when one gets old...not unlike my computer...

As I was saying...in my drunken daze...I reflected on my miserable excuse of a life...and remember many many missed opportunities...as I look forward...the window does not seem as wide-open as before...which promted the question...how many chances do we get?? There's opportunity cost at every chance taken or given up...where does it end??

Your thinking too much honey. Stop dwelling on things in the past, look to the future and you'll do great.

Agreed with [memeber W223344Y]...

Past is past...
Glory or failure is written in history... Not forgotten...
But also not remembered.....

So let it be my friend....

Next time when a opportunity comes, just seize it!

Cheers

"which promted the question...how many chances do we get?? There's opportunity cost at every chance taken or given up...where does it end??"

Ah, the questions of a drunken philosopher.

In order, mate: -

1) As many as we recognise. Though sometimes we recognise them too late.
2) When you're six-feet under, a pile of dust, or a newspaper statistic.

I've been down this road many a time too (drunken or otherwise). You'll get over it dude. But maybe it's time you did a little reflection and discovered what's really making you feel this way. We're here to learn. True knowledge is self-knowledge and all that. So go forth and learn, grasshopper.

(intelligent) Human life is forever bogged down with the question you posed. To wit it is said : -

Carpe Diem. - Quintus Horatius Flaccus

Who also said
Sedit qui timuit ne non succederet.

He who feared he would not succeed sat still. (For fear of failure, he did nothing.)

and in more modern times

"Tis far better to regret the things I have done than regret the things I have failed to do." - been phrased in many different ways and I can't quite remember who the quote was originally attributed too. I think it was one of the American Presidents though.

It's definately not the present one, who tends to say things like

"We must always remember that all human beings begin life as a feces. A feces is a living being in the eyes of God, who has endowed that feces with all of the rights and God-given blessings of any other human being." - George W Bush.

And remember the words of Marilyn Manson, "Any human being with at least half a brain is undoubtedly going to get depressed."

Opportunity is more a random Chance
with no one ever in complete control.
A Chance, an Opportunity occasionally passes
and with only some of us
at the right place,
in the right time, and
with the right know-how
to flag it down.
The folly of youth, may it not be any more
than rude comparison with experience of age?
And how can one be sure which Choice is right till youth becomes aged?

Don't carry too much baggage when you want to see outside.
Perspection gets hinder because you are stuck at the frame.

Suggest to progress in nude as last resort. Get the head out of the window and take a fresh breathe. Don't count so much on probability of chances .. at times like this multiply your good health, wits and charms .

Someone tells me this today - Do what you do best and stay positive - good things are attracted to that.
