~~ Wanna Dance ? ~~

Personally, I love the "Latino Style" of dancing, but then, it's great exercise for those hips, thighs and calves! Plus, there can be those slow sensual dances, those are "muy caliente"!

I was able to take lessons from the famous Spanish dancer "Eddie Torres" in NYC, NY. Eddie and his wife were a very energic and a sensual couple on the floor.

Tell me what your "favorite dance" is and where you like to go?

I like the energy of the latin dances but I'd be fooling myself if I thought I could practice them. I have no rhythm and my footwork is an accident waiting to happen. That said I'd still like to think that someday I can walk onto the dancefloor with a hot sexy stunning partner and dance the tango or the salsa and have every man & woman in the place looking on with jealous eyes.
I may not walk off Murrayfield stadium in a Scotland Shirt with the Rugby World Cup Trophy in my arms. At the age of 28 its clear to me now that that dream will never be but a fantasy. But I can still dream. All I need do now is learn to dance and win some money so I can buy myself a trophy dance partner. Shhh no one spoil it.

I like Greek dances though I don't dance often...well I'm in TX now, so maybe I should try to learn country cowboy dances?

Wow...latin dances are great, though I don't think I would be able to dance 'cause I have no good sense rhythm and they look very complex to me....

My most common dance expression is what I call Pick-Up Boogying. It entails some hot tuneage and usually some sort of traffic snarl. I've had to learn to curtail the footwork, tho... slamming on the brakes at an inopportune time, or crashing into the car in front of me kinda takes away some of the joy...

I also do a mean Salsa Doritos not optional!

.

Been a while since they last let me out into polite society. Resurfacing, catching a breath, & catching up.

And while I got my Broad-Brimmed Pimping Hat on, could I cajole all of y'all to Comment on, Alone In A Cloud? It's probably the best thing that I've written!

Lately...

As a former ballerina, jazz and tap dancer....I just like to move baby! I don't really have a favorite, but I love moving through space to music!

Babyboy ~~

I have to watch, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, a few more times and I might have that "movement down pat on the OOOOPA! dance" otherwise, you can teach me.
AS for the TX country dances... I'm so at a lose there, too.

Last time I went to a country dance place, it was amazing!
All the men looked like they were "wanna be air traffic controlers" with all the looking around and back behind them ... I got dizzy.

But sure sounds sweet!

I never got to do that, too big in the butt as a child, and then too busty as a teenager.

<Cheerleading was all that was left for me, after I got rid of the big butt syndrom.>

As much as I love dancing, I have no training whatsoever... so I don't know any dances with pre-arranged steps.
I hit the dance floor with just about anything and I love to move freely, my body reflecting the mood of the song and never ever missing a beat.

I am ashamed to say that I don't really like Greek music and I am totally unable to perform even the simplest Greek dance. My tastes are westernized. I grew up with the Beatles and the Stones. I have fond memories of my adolescence during the disco years. I learned to appreciate Sinatra and Glenn Miller. But I 'll dance just as happily to Elvis or Chuck Berry, Martha and the Vandellas or Marvyn Gaye.

Well my last GF was a dancer so she nade for damn sure that i at least had learned minimally capable at it by the time we parted ways.

But formally I don't know jack squat!

I did learn something from her but I sure don't know how to put into words what it was. The best I can do to describe it is to simply say that I most likely will never be the most goofy looking dancer on the floor. (but I still sometims might be a close contender).

On second thought though, what she taught me somehow made me enjoy and made me actually willing to dance. There a lot of guys with strong aversions to dancing and prior to her I was one definitely one of them. dWhat she really taught me was ti simply to enjoy dancing and to relax and have fun with it. And to get "sexy" with it. And she provided a really great example of that for me. Prior to that I hated dancing and avoided it whenever possible. Now I actually like it and I think it's fun.

And chicks dig it! That's not a joke statement either but before her I did not realize just how significant learning what I did about dancing from her was. Nuff said on that count.

It was also funny going to the rehearsals for her dance company with her. I'd videotape them so she could look at them later in close deatil at home. To polish things, learn the steps better and do general critique. But the woman who led the whole company would alwyas ask if I wanted to join up. I never did but the woman was sure persistant in trying to get me to.

Seems they had a problem getting as much male talent as they needed for a lot of the peices they were doing. And there were a few male dancers there who had these amazingly in shape bodies who could do spome amazing manuevers with them. But also some guys who were not so masculine looking and did have a lot of what you might call "physical strength". Many of the peices required the men to lift up the corresponding woman. And some of these "lacking in the masculinity dept" guys could not support the weight of a woman in a lift.

So I got bugged a lot to join. After seeing enough of how things seemed to be working there though I came to the conclusion that if I had been single that joining up might be a rather quick way to get some rather close contact with a lot of in shape , nice looking young girls. Horny young girls. Something about athleticism releases their horny hormones or something too. Plus most the guys involved with that type of dance have no interest whatsoever in women. So it's nearly like you'd have your pick of the litter.

All theoretically of course. One funny idea the ex GF got was for her to teach me all the moves I'd need to become an exotic dancer for hire for bachellorette parties and such and then she'd manage me. We never did that she said she knew we could really make some money that way if we just focused on it.

I had never ever thought that any suggestion of me doing something even remotely close to that could ever come up in my life. But it did and I was not entirely enthusiastic about doing it. And that's probably why I never did.

KC~~
ooooooooo... come dance for me!
{i]<running to ATM for *singles*>

Dancing is a great amount of fun, letting go, being all sexy, goofey or whatever, but it's apart of the social graces from "far" back in the day. Men knew it then, it's just men are lazy now.
