SUNDAY MORNING

Good morning,
The sun is not even up yet and I have been awake for almost an hour now, I guess it has to do with my going to bed so early last night.
It began raining yesterday early evening making me afraid to go through with my hiking plans for this morning.
Too many times have I seen the rescue heli on the news picking up some hikers from the side of a cliff or mountain.
I know the trails will be slippery, maybe by this evening if it does not continue to rain I will be able to go.
A couple of weeks ago two of my friends accompanied me to a hiking destination I had been wanting to visit for over a year where once stood a beautiful Chalet style Inn, Ye Alpine Tavern nestled in the midst of Mt Lowe. This historic hike will take you through the ruins of the famous Alpine Tavern at 5,603feet and Echoe mountain resort built by Proffesor T. Lowe in 1893 and destroyed in September 15, 1936, fire completely gutted the tavern, Lowe Trail Campground now occupies the site of the famous Alpine Tavern.
If you have a chance go to this site it is an awesome piece of history and insight as to why I was willing to hike for hours just to get to stand in front of what once was a beautiful get away for the privileged.
I am still overwhelm as to how they were able to get all of those building materials to that area????
Have a beautiful Sunday darling and don't you feel much more complete now that you know about Ye Alpine Tavern...lol
Adios

If only the trails weren't so slippery, I can just imagine how clean and refreshing the air would be up there after the rain...

Aaaah, you tease me so. All I have been doing is staring at the mountain ranges and practically feel the clean crisp air hit my skin.

And you tease me as well, I can just picture your soft, supple skin getting goosebumps from the sensation of the cool mountain air.

Hello Jim,
There are a few towns at opposite directions from MT Wilson,
La Canada Flintridge is one of them.
How are you enjoying the rain?

Who me? Nah I'm the shy, quiet type. Sorry, didn't mean to get your blog off-topic. Very interesting reading.
