HIKING AMIDST THE CLOUDS AND THE HOLLYWOOD SIGN

I can not begin to express to you how great I feel right now not to mention accomplished.
The first thing I did today was jump in my car and head towards the Hollywood Hills, I did not allow my self anytime to change my mind.
I have to admit to you that the initial warm up was a b_tch being that I had not hiked that trail in sometime.
It is not a long hiking trail but a short difficult one, I was lucky to get there early enough to catch the beautiful morning rays and low morning clouds, it is an awesome feeling to know that you are standing atop a mountain having gained 700 ft of elevation by means of your own feet.
As I stood there so early in the morning overtaken by the vast view of not just one Metropolis but a few I then realized how much I had been missing out on by not visiting one of my favorite hiking spots in so long.

did someone say something bout people not having the courtesy to leave a comment when they visit a blog?

anyway...
thats a great city you live in. i too tried (but failed) to trek to the Hollywood sign. seems like i took the wrong way there, started out on Hollywood blvd. my hike ended not too far below the sign, with a sign saying something like, "keep out, this place swarmin with rattlesnakes!". it was a b*tch but the trek was still well worth it. did pass through the hollywood hills with a great view of some sort of lake down below.
anyway... catch you later!

Hmmmmmmmmm What a grand view to behold. I would imagine the view prior to the buildup of the metropolis below, before the sky was so ridden with smog. The perfect addition to this site could only be to have made the ascent with you.

Snakee,
Were you born this charming?

Mr A,
Thank you so much for adorning my journal.
How in the world did you find out about the Hollywood Sign auction?
That intrigues me so, you see I am such a huge fan of old Hollywood and of the Hollywood sign.
Did you know that there once stood an even larger sign just across from the Hollywood sign, mmmm the more you learn.

Should you ever travel to Japan. Make sure you hike up Mount Fuji. I did it once when I was in the Marines in 1997. Breathtaking. You know they say,"To climb Mt Fuji makes you a wise man, to climb it twice, makes you a fool." I personally would like to be a fool to climb it once more before I depart this small rock we live on.

I have always wanted to go up to where the Hollywood sign is. Is it still accesible, and can you give me directions?

Ley,
One can drive fairly close to the sign but that is all you get for the great Hollywood landmark is carefully and always watched through security cams.
