I think one of the challenges I have in achieving Utopia in life is the incredible propensity I have for being both easily amused and easily bored.

So it's still a little too cold to continue renovating our home, the children are busy playing and the wifey is somewhere doing something other than

Of course, I'm on my computer and end up reading an article on Wikipedia about
Camels. Did you know a camel is either of the two species of large even-toed ungulate in the genus Camelus, the Dromedary (single hump) and the Bactrian Camel (double hump). Both are native to the dry and desert areas of Asia and northern Africa. The average life expectancy of a camel is 30 to 50 years.

The term camel is also used more broadly, to describe any of the six camel-like creatures in the family Camelidae: the two true camels, and the four South American camelids: Llama, Alpaca, Guanaco and Vicuña. The name camel comes via the Greek καμελος (kamelos) from the Arabic جمل (jamal) or the Hebrew גמל (gahmal), all meaning "camel".

Here's where it get's both interesting and sad, thinking about it now, since you all no doubt are going to report ravaging conquests of sex, sin and debauchery from this weekend's pursuits of the different sexes...yes I said sexes, as i also recently read about the non-gendered and transgendered amoung us.

Anyway, I digress. I noticed this link on Wikipedia "Random Articles", and I am nothing if not random, so I clicked it and below are the first few things that came up

Azo pigments are solid, colorless particles (typically earths or clays), which have been colored using an azo compound. The azo compounds are highly colored organic molecules. Their light absorption is too great to be on their own (and their price would inhibit this): this would appear as very dark. The full brightness and tone of the color comes into its right when diluted. In order to be able to be used in paints, solid particles are necessary to convert the azo colorant into a pigment. The azo pigments form an important class of pigments in all kinds of paints including artist's paints. They have excellent coloring properties, mainly in the yellow to red range, and lightfastness. The lightfastness depends not only on the properties of the organic azo compound, but also on the way they have been adsorbed on the colorless pigment carrier.

Hmmm...I think I'll get me some Azo pigments...

The Good Shepherd is a film directed by Robert De Niro for a release in 2006. The film is a part fiction/part fact based look at the early history of the CIA through the eyes of Edward Wilson (Matt Damon), a character based on James Jesus Angleton. Robert De Niro developed this film for many years as a pet project and will now sit in the director's chair for the second time in his career. De Niro will also costar as the General who recruits Wilson, and Angelina Jolie will play Wilson's wife. Joe Pesci will come out of a seven year retirement for this film, in his first onscreen role since Lethal Weapon 4. Filming began in August 2005 with a release date set for December 22, 2006. Although it has not yet been released, it has been rumored for several Academy Awards, considering it has De Niro, Damon, and Pesci involved.

I'll probably watch this movie...

Peter Leko(b. September 8, 1979 in Subotica, Serbia and Montenegro) is a Hungarian chess player. He became a grandmaster in 1994 at the age of 14 years (a world record at the time). In the April 2006 FIDE list, he has an ELO rating of 2738, making him number five in the world, and Hungary's number one. He is considered to be one of the most important opening theorists in the professional circuit.

Under the terms of the so-called "Prague Agreement", masterminded by Yasser Seirawan, and intended to unite the two World Chess Championships, Lékó's 2002 win at Dortmund qualified him to play a match against Vladimir Kramnik. It was intended that the winner of this match would play the winner of a match between Garry Kasparov and the FIDE World Chess Champion (first Ruslan Ponomariov, then Rustam Kasimdzhanov) to decide the undisputed world champion. After several delays, the match was held from September 25-October 18, 2004, in Brissago, Switzerland. It ended in a 7-7 tie (+2 -2 =10), which entitled Kramnik to remain the reigning "classical" world champion.

I could take him...I played chess once...nope twice...

Islam and The Jews: The Unfinished Battle is a 2003 book (ISBN 0884198847) by Mark A. Gabriel, an Egyptian Islamic scholar and former lecturer at Al-Azhar University in Cairo.

Gabriel claims that Muslims will be in a never-ending conflict with Israel because of (1) a belief that the land belongs to Islam and (2) a belief that the holy mosque in Jerusalem must be kept pure (pp. 149-150). Gabriel argues that "we can't just sit back and allow Jews and Muslims to continue as they are" (p. 169) and that the solution to the conflict lies in converting both Jews and Muslims to Christianity.

The book also discusses the linkage between the Islam and anti-semitism and the conflict between Muslims and Jews as encouraged by the Qur'an. Mark A. Gabriel uses his personal history as a formerly anti-semitic Muslim to describe how the Qur'an and Islamic culture encourage hatered of non-Muslims and Jews especially. Professor Gabriel believes that Islamic anti-semitism is a key driver of the Arab Israeli conflict.

Jews and Muslims don't get along sometimes???...who knew...

Legion of Green Men is an electronic music group in Ontario, Canada, working often in the style of ambient, dub, trip-hop, and experimental. Brothers Alexander Addicus and Rupert J. Lloyd are best known for their 1994 debut album Spatial Specific, released initially on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label and later picked up by Virgin Records, which garnered a small cult following among the ambient music fan community at the time.

They are known to release the occasional productions of vinyls, named Eternal Opuscules by the duo, containing music which, at the end of each brief track, would cause the needle to intentionally repeat, playing the loop infinitely until the record player is turned off.
Addicus and Lloyd also release music under many aliases in different genres, often in extremely limited quantities. Their oft-collected alias among noise and gothic enthusiasts, Empirical Sleeping Consort, has yielded three albums.

OK...I HAVE to go to the music store and buy music now...
