PLANNED PARENTHOOD?!!??!!?

This is one of those blowing-a-gasket posts...and the subject of this rant??

OTHER PEOPLE'S KIDS!!%^&$&^$?*&!!

We have a few...or several...kids around our neighborhood that are from 8-14 years old, and they run around until 2-3am sometimes. They are loud and obnoxious...they got mouths on 'em that would make [blog saintlianna] blush and they have absolutely no respect for property or other people around them.

My beef is not with the kids necessarily, but where the fuck are the parents?? I'll tell you where they are...in the bar, or the bingo hall or the office tower...too fucking busy doing everything but taking fucking responsibility for their kids.

Our system of "justice" holds the kids almost blameless and we have no recourse with the parents. Call Social Services (Child Welfare) you say...I have, and if the kids are eating and not half dead, they stay where they are.

I don't know what the answer is...but I do know if I catch one of those little buggers spray painting my shed again at 2:30 AM...I'm going to take the spray cans, track down the parents and shove them straight up their respective asses.

I'm telling you...some people should not be allowed to breed.

Remember when we were kids? If we pulled any shit we would get our asses kicked. Not only by who ever caught us, but by our folks when we got home.
I hope yesterday's values are remembered and taught again soon.

We have the same problem around here and it's a very small community. I had a little 15 year old call me a fucking bitch after I asked him more than once to watch his mouth around my 8 y/o. I knew his mother and went to her house to talk with her about it and she told me he could say whatever he wanted...WTF......so I asked is it just other people he can call a fucking bitch or can he do it to you to......I got a go to hell and a door slammed in my face. So I hear you on the parents!!!

i was 100% pure angel, growing up, with GRANDPARENTS!!! remember the "switch?" that was my neighbor who was slightly older than my own aging adoptive guardians.

but you know what? i am glad i did grow up with them and not rampant like you described. i further agree about the "breeders."

i ain't having em, lusty. something to do with my chemistry. i daresay i am more patient now than ever, and if some mom or dad can't keep em within their space and not mine, i turn on the dark angel. works like a charm. you see i treat kids like adults. not sure if i am supposed to, yet it hasn't bit me in the ass.

i was in walmart. a little boy was behind me with a drum beating it as loudly as possible. this was in the card section, you know, where you might need to concentrate. i turned around looked for his mom/dad...nada! so i looked little dude square in the eyes, in a very tight lipped, calm and cold voice, i said, "go find your mom or dad NOW", that little boy ran to his parents. AND, they came by and apologized for his behavior.
(shaking head) never ceases to amaze me. he could have just kicked me in the shin.

How they treat adults is what they're seeing in their own homes. If the parents don't respect each other, than shit runs down hill. I have a gazillion kids in my neighborhood, all ages. I have often ran into toddlers who don't even talk with no parents around. One lady even came out of her house grabbed her kid and starting screeeeeeeeaming at her. Ok, who's the parent? Kids can't raise themselves.

Ahh, how I can relate. Many time I have been awaken by kids messing around in the alley behind the house and not caring. When we had the trash bins in the alleys I swear the Firefighters almost lived in our alley.

Not that have a bunch of good looking firefighters in the alley all the time was not entertaining but oh the stink of those bins smelling.

You'd think those kids would at least be smart enough to commit juvie crimes farther from home. I'd be tempted to hide and take their pictures, then embarrass their parents into giving a shit by posting fliers all over the place with "Do you know where your son (or daughter) was last night?" or something like that. You might get a grumpy neighbor rep., but the neighborhood kids won't mess with you much anymore.

My old Mother, Bless her, spoke only once in words. If she had to repeat it she did so in sign language across our ass with a razor strap. For you youngsters, the old razor straps were 2 inches wide, 1/4 in thick and 16 inches long. You didn't want a second whupping.

I never beat on my kids, but I sure worn out their butts when they broke the rules.
None of Mothers children went to jail and so far none of the ten we raised went there either. They all have manners also.
Damn there just might be something to that spare the rod spoil the child stuff.

Got to wonder about some of the parents now days.

Those same kids must have cousins that live in my neighborhood. They walk around all night, stealing anything that isn't locked down. The parents are afraid of them I think. One boy beat his stepdad, and they didn't call the police on him out of fear. Seems that kids now have no fear of anything. And they are "our future"...that is scary!

FROM ONE BULLHEAD TO ANOTHER. DUDE I FEEL YOUR PAIN.....

BUT SEE THERE IS ONE DIFFERENCE I HAVE NO PROBLEM SMACKING THE CRAP OUT OF SOME KIDS HIND-END IF THEIR PARENT WON'T. SEE THAT IS THE WAY IT WAS WHEN WE WERE YOUNGER. IF WE GOT CAUGHT PULLING SOME SHIT THE PARENT WHO CAUGHT US BEAT OUR ASS AND THEN WE HAD TO STOP AT EVERY HOUSE ON THE WAY HOME AND GET OUR ASS' BEAT CAUSE WE HAD A PARTY LINE WHICH MEANT WHEN THE PARENT THAT CAUGHT US GOT DONE BEATING OUR ASS' THEY THEN GOT ON THE PHONE AND THE WHOLE FREAKING ROAD FOUND OUT. YES EVERYONE WAS NOSEY ON OUR STREET AND I HAPPEN TO LIVE ON A A ROAD THAT WAS 1/2 MILE LONG AND MY BEST FRIEND LIVED AT THE OTHER END. SO THERE WAS A WHOLE LOT OF RED ASS ON MY END MAYBE THAT IS WHY I LIKE SPANKINGS LOL **KIDDING****

HELL JUST LAST NIGHT MY BEST FRIEND WHO PASSED AWAY IN FEB. HER 18 YEAR OLD LOST HIS MIND AGAIN AND I TOOK HIS FREAKING CAR KEYS AWAY FROM HIM RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS DADDY. SHIT AUNT PAT AIN'T PLAYING THAT. DUMB BUTT DECIDED HE WAS GONNA GET HIM MY FACE AND SCREAM AT ME AND HE FOUND OUT AUNT PAT HAS A DAMN GOOD RIGHT HOOK. I NEVER LET MY OWN SON GET IN MY FACE WHAT MAKES THIS ONE THINK I WOULD LET HIM.

I HAVE A FIRM BELIEF..... IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD. UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE MORE VILLAGE IDIOTS REPRODUCING THESE DAYS SO USE GOOD GUYS GET THE DUTY OF DEALING WITH ALL THE LITTLE UN-WATCHED HOODLUMS. BUT KICK THEIR ASS ANYWAY AND THEN MAYBE YOU CAN SLEEP GOOD AT NIGHT.

The problem is a society wide lack of being forced to take responcibility for ones own actions. There have to be consequences and there are none, just more excuses for bad behavior. Eventually, I hope, there will be a societal backlash and consequences will then be the norm. Of course then we'll all complain that the system is too harsh. But for now, I'm with you, see it everyday in the teenagers I work with, glad school is out for the summer and we live on a dead end street....lol
Funny, we never have this problem with 2 Great Danes and an African Grey Parrot who likes to yell at the dogs, "Go get 'em boys, get 'em!"....LMAO

when he was seven.. the first and only time.. I told him to go pick out a belt from Mr.s closet.." he told me I would go to jail" I told him.. I wont leave marks..and the jail time will be worth you learning respect..

Olddue had it right. Where I live, the kids KNOW we have guns, and they stay cool. Been know to trap 'em too. Down here if you catch the kids defacing or damaging property, the PARENTS are responsible for the damages. Make the little basterds' parents fork out some $, I'll betcha things change. Children don't ask to be brought into this world ~ unfortunately ~ but they do deserved to be loved and taught RESPECT. For themselves and others. Seems there has been a whole generation that missed that and now they are raising little mutants that have no idea what respect is.
I've told my kids ( my own 2 as well as the steps) that for every action there is a re action, to which there is a consequence. They had better be prepared to face their own consequences cause I won't.
When my oldest was about 13, I found out that her "best" friend got caught shop lifting. I told both of mine that if I ever...EVER...found out that they had tried the same thing, I would drag them from store to store and introduce them to the staff as my child - the thief! They knew better than to think I wouldn't live up to my words and I never EVER had any problems.

I hope you find some solution to your dilemma short of stringing them up as a warning to other who may try the same offense

Running the streets, causing property damage etc...these kids have knocked out the windows in all the campers stored in extra storage area, tore up the gardens etc...called CPS and the neglectful parents were caught red handed not watching them, the cops hid around the corner and watched as for 45 minutes they played unattended in the water(ages 4,5 and 7) and still nothing has been done! Mistaken sense of entitlement and rights really gets people in trouble. When they let their kids grow up with it and no boundaries, there's hell to pay in the long run. I remember when I was 8 I had to be in the house and in bed by 8:30 pm during the week in the summer, and 9 pm on weekends. (It was 7:30 to bed during the school year.) One MEASLY half hour difference! There were special occassions when exceptions were made, but it was infrequent and NOT a right. If mom and the neighbors remembered the way one of us was the last special event that was out of line, uh-uh, nope, no special privileges.

And the neighbors WERE an important part. They supplied the extra arms, lectures, discipline and reports to mom as well as shoring up the collective memory of the neighborhood about which kid's behavior was way out of line and whom to keep an extra eye on.. We thought we got away with a lot, but we really had a lot of eyes watching our backs.

Looking at kids these days, I think they've been cheated. And I find myself grateful for my infertility which came at the cost of being in my early teens. I know with my own past issues, including being an ACOA (Adult Child Of An Alcoholic), in denial about my depression, and growing up after my dad died, I was terrified of having kids. It took til I was going on 18 to get it through my thick head that the world didn't OWE me a living just because I existed. Au contraire mon amice! And I had been getting RL practice at "being a social builder" (so to speak) all along with being mom's helper and stuff like that, but really I just wanted the ineffable fantasy thing of "being taken loved and taken care..." (Whatever that was.) You, as society, really do not WANT young women starting families with that kind of stinking thinking going on in their pretty lil heads!!!

We have all these remedys to protect children from abuse, but we've taken away the 99.5% of tools parents have to discipline their kids in any meaningful ways. And of that 99.5%, over 50% is the time parents do NOT have to be with their kids due to the amount of time they spend out of the home, working.

Well my kids are 12 and 8 and there is no way in hell they would be outside at that time! My friend was amazed they were in bed at 9, but hey they need sleep, and I rule this roost not them. My daughter and i were in a store once when she was almost 3 years old. She didn't talk a lot(not like now) but she could clearly say"excuse me" and "thank you". We were walking through the shop and of course she was saying excuse me if we had to cut through the line ups. One man looked at his daughter(looked about 7) and said look she has manners. I thought OK buddy and why are you saying that to your daughter, you should have taught her that and kept up on it. Even now my kids get told about that. I said if nothing else I will not be ashamed of them if we take them somewhere.
They are getting harder to handle now because of the way the other kids are. Its too mouthy and a little bit too much they know they are in trouble. My daughter said yesterday OK I am calling social services I said fine you think you got it bad now...go for it. She was joking but I wasn't lol. Childs rights has gone too far...we are the ones paying for it.

Lots of parents don't see that their kids are total little assholes. Mainly because, 1, they themselves are scared of their own kids, 2, scared of other parent, 3. Are just like their kids..
Which is a total shame...Its rough being in your situation, been there, did that.. finally had to get the STate Troopers involved. Was ugly in neighborhood for a bit till they moved, then was peaceful. Best of luck. T

LT,

I know what you mean. Parents need to pay attention to their children and teach them manners and responsibilty. Here where I am from it's nothing to go to let the dogs out at 3am and have kids walking through my back yard and I am talking kids from 18 to 2...once one of the older kids was carrying her baby sister. I mean come on at 3am kids should have their asses glued to the bed and be there till it's time for school. Some of these kids around here are well known trouble makers. One night the fire whistle went off and it was all because they set a trash can on fire....they didn't care that it was tied to the awning post at the gas station. And they set the trash can at the liquor store on fire also. It makes me go WTF is up with parents.

What gets me is these kids don't start out bad things just happen constantly in their home life and through peer pressure to make them turn into idiots. Like the little 2nd grader who ended up in In School Suspension back when I was a substitute....he got put in there because he had two weeks worth of homework he hadn't done while he was gone sick.....his parents never sat down and helped him work on it when he got to feeling better or nothing. He got sent to ISS where the big 6th graders were that were there for calling the teacher names or for causing big trouble. I was like poor little guy having to be in here with the big bullies. I bet it all could have been prevented if the parents had taken a little time and spent with the little guy on homework.

Makes me so angry that people who don't deserve children have them everyday and let them run or hurt them. Then people like me, who would love to have children and would give them a good home and a proper upbringing, can't have any. I definately agree some people just shouldn't be allowed to breed. *Shaking my head at this topic*

Oh and as for the idea of the big dogs....hell around here kidds have been known to shoot the dogs with pellet guns or put firecrackers under a dogs foot while it was sleeping. One kid even took a ball bat and broke out his neighbors truck window....and we are talking a 4th or 5th grade kid.

I say it's time to take some parents "Out behind the barn" for a little reminder of how to be good parents.
