The Morning After Pill...

The Morning after Pill

This is by far the worst invention I have ever heard of in my entire life. It sends an image of “I can have sex with whomever I want and no longer have to worry about getting pregnant.” Sure you won’t get pregnant but that does not remove the risk of sexually transmitted diseases!

I know they make it clear that it will not protect against sexual diseases, but most people don’t think like that. They care more about the fact it can stop pregnancy!

I do like its creation in the fact that women who are abused or can take it and not have to worry. Goodness knows after such a traumatic event, you do not want to have to carry that person’s child afterwards. I give a massive applaud to any woman who is strong enough to carry that child in that specific event.

I do not think this pill should be on the open market though, it promotes an immature image to an already “seriously” immature society. Leave it for emergencies only, meaning… if a woman gets violated or abused then bring her to the hospital to be checked out and then and only then allow the pill to be issued.

In my mind this pill is possibly the second worst invention right behind the invention of gunpowder.

Create all these damn pills you want, in the long run it is not going to help a damn thing. Instead over the next 10 to 20 years I predict it will “help” increase STD’s by over 60%. The idea that it promotes is very unsafe to the very idea of humanity in general.

There was no report, that is "my" predition as a prophet and visionary.

I do believe in birth control, I do not believe in reckless sex though. There is no pure form of safe sex. People need to be mature and realize that. If a women has sex and gets knocked up then she needs to handle it the way god intended her to. If a man knocks her up then the man needs to handle it the way god intended it.

Even if you remove the idea of god and religion, birth control is ok, the morning after pill is not standard birth control though. It was invented mainly because of the high amount of pre-mature pregnancies in this country.

If people were mature and could handle the responsibility then it never would have been invented. I don't have sex because I know I can handle a child if a mistake hapens. Just cause I can handle it does not mean the woman could, because of my doubts in her maturity I do not have sex.

That is what maturity really is. Knowing right from wrong and knowing about what humanity means.

First off, I'd like to know who put out this study that predicts STD's will skyrocket out of control (I would say a prediction of STD's increasing by 60% is a huge increase), do you have a link? I am a firm believer in "Plan B" the morning after pill of which you talk of and claim is the second worst invention of all time. If your main point of contention is that this will increase unsafe sex because people won't be concerned about pregnancy are you against birth control and depo as well? Would you prefer that people resort to abortion or increase the number of unwanted children in this country that bogs down foster care? I'm so sick of the pervasive idiocy consuming like a cancer all aspects of this country.

I agree with leyndokona and hourglasses.... A friend of mine had a similar experience and it was NO fun.

I agree, it is a good invention, and I would hope that women would be educated enough to know the drawbacks. I just get a very bad image everytime I think about younger women using it.

I think if women are educated on what that pill really is, they will see it for what it is - a last resort.

I had an experience where a condom broke. I got the morning after pill the next day. Unfortunately it did not work. I'll leave it at that.

Like many other great invention, this one has been and always will be abused. It's a great product for what it's meant to do but like you say, it makes people careless.
