Someone guessed it right rather quickly...

Well someone guessed it correct rather quickly…

The Klingons are my favorite race from Star Trek.

The reason they strike me so well is because they use their blades over their phasers. They mainly use their phasers (disrupters) on the ships and when it comes to hand to hand they use close range blades (which are very cool in design as well). I wish modern day people did this, it would save a lot of lives since you would be face to face with your enemy and not guessing at whom you are fighting.

Such honor and discipline is a lost art to this world. I would agree, they are considerably more brutal then I would personally care for. Despite that though, I envy the race a great deal.

That is correct... a knight is not supposed to value anything artificial other then his armor, and his sword.

He is required to defend "all" people though and the land in which he lives.

There is no "color" in a knights eyes. There is black and white (right and wrong). Rules are rules... no exceptions. A knight is sworn to defend the "right" and never "EVER" under any circumstances to allow the wrong.

there are a great many alternatives to fighting available even to save another persons life mystic...

and I have used them, I am not exempt

what is a waste is when people go out of their way to protect property which the majority do....

More wars/fights/defence are waged over a physical Item, land or Ideal....exceptionally rarely is it in fact in the defence of the innocent

even a knight is not justified in killing someone for the sake of land gold or just on principle

That is the difference between a knight and a civilian. My life is supposed to be valued less then that of "any" other person in the world. We are trained to engage even if out gunned and out numbered.

A heroic person saves innocent people, not themselves.

As a mother, you are exempt from following those rules though. Women are not required to follow the laws of chivalry... it is a code for men only. Men are to treat women and children as being of higher value then even gold.

In other words seriously look at other options if you know you wont have them disarmed and restrained within 30 seconds...

like duck and hide or run, nothing is worth your life

unless of course it is the life of your children, thats about the only time you will see me enter a situation against my own sense...

of course it is but if it isn't over within 30 seconds it isn't worth engaging...

I think 30 seconds is pushing it. I think the first 5 to 10 seconds is what defines the outcome.

people shouldn't be fighting let alone not knowing who they are fighting....

I am not a gun person, My training officer even knew me well enough not to request that I become licenced as even if I had it I wouldn't use it.....Boney has his but he has never had cause to use it.....and with the manner he conducts himself he hopefully never will...

if any civilian is ever in a situation where using a firearm is a justified level of force, you are already dead and just don't know it yet....

if your forced to action you disarm and if necessary restrain, an encounter is won/lost in the first 30 seconds....
