Sexual Harassment in the Workplace

A month or so ago I posted about a serious sexual harassment issue I was having at work. A lot of people gave very good advice and I wanted to say thank you. Despite the written warnings I gave management they did not really do anything about the problems.

Today I stopped in the office and talked to management again and told them point blank… that the comments needed to stop. The next time I hear a man at my job make a sexual remark about one of the female employees that I would approach the woman the comment was made about and tell her word for word everything that has been said as well as is currently being said.

Two of these woman are actually managers at the store so talking to them about these remarks is within company policy and thus it left the store manager and his assistant literally speechless. If I approach these women and tell them that the guys are going around saying that they had sex with the store manager in order to get their jobs and so on and so forth then they would be up in the office filing complaints very quickly. They both agreed and said they would deal with it.

I got a call less then a hour ago from my store manager letting me know that one of those managers who was making and starting those rumors is no longer with the company. It appears that they finally dealt with the issue at hand.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks, I appreciated the advice you gave and wanted to give a quick update because I know some of the people would be interested to know how it turned out.

Way to go, Mystic!!!! This really is a serious issue and I'm sure you have some new found respect for the integrity of the higher ups who dealt with this. It must feel so much better going in to work now......phew! Glad to hear things worked out for you! Take care and be well.
