The Measure of a Man
The Measure of a Man
I know what you're thinking... So NOT what this blog is about.
What I'm referring to is my self-evaluation. Looking at the way I eact to others' comments and actions. This is what prompted my blog: Superficiality Sucks
The day I decided to write that it was in response to a co-worker's comment about (he wasn't so kind) unattractive girls. He said they're like "eye repellant" I knew he seriously feels this way but I laughed at the comment as though it were meant as a joke.
After having laughed it off I realized that even as a joke it was cruel and callous. Thinking about it in this way made me take stock in how I view others.
Seeing as a result that I am and always have been just as shallow as anyone else I decided to write that blog.
Sure this could have been a continuation of that post. Only now I have another reason for making a fresh blog: Something just as callous and ignorant on one of my favorite FX series.
NIP/TUCK had a recent episode in which one of the surgeons had a lady wear a bag on her head if she wanted to have sex with him, and she did! If it weren't bad enough once I read last night it's not the last time we'll see this happen on that series.
Just had to rant on that because it was disturbing to watch anyone be degraded in that way. And more disturbing is that the writers are going to have her let it happen in more than one episode!
Guess it's not enough to have all attractive and/or beautiful people cast in television series they can't even have a "plain jane" or "joe" without degradng them...

My mood isn't about you babydoll. I'm disappointed in my realization of my own superficiality when it has come to the opposite sex in all these years. I could see it after my experience in Pttsburgh with Mary.|
Even so I still laughed at the comment my co-woker made. It made me feel low about myself in regard to the whole matter. Hence, the blog "Superficiality Sucks"
There's also the disappointment in the role the media has in promoting beauty and degrading those who aren't seen as beauiful.
