Yes, today I got the sticky bandage removed and was downgraded to a tubi-grip.

Can't say I'd been looking forward to it but had steeled myself by thinking it couldn't be any worse than getting my legs waxed.

Oh boy!!! Was I wrong or what? Remind me never, ever, ever, to do that again. I actually felt faint when it was being being cut so that it could be removed. Had to have a lie down while a very nice nurse got me a cup of coffee (and no, before anyone asks, I didn't try and hit on her, jeeez, you guys, give a girl a break).

Suffice to say the ankle is still a bit swollen and I still have to hobble around on a crutch but I'm able to put more weight on it now, so it's on the mend. So, it's physio starting tomorrow but, on the plus side, at least it doesn't itch like hell any more.

A tubi-grip is an elasticated bandage that comes in various diameters depending on where it's being used (thigh, knee, ankle, wrist, elbow etc) that is slid over the injured joint and is used to provide additional support to the but isn't anywhere near as restrictive as a sticky bandage or plaster cast. You often see fotballers/rugby players etc. wearing them. Even better still you can take it off and put it on again when ever you like so you don't have to worry about getting it wet in the shower or bath.
