So here we are; it's Friday night and I should be out on the pull and instead I'm stuck here, in my flat, with nothing to do but blog.

Because I slipped getting out of the car at lunch time, went over my ankle and landed rather heavily on that part of my anatomy that people seem to admire so much.

Happy to say that there's no visible damage to the derriere but the ankle has swollen up like a balloon and I'm to avoid putting any weight on it, where possible, for the next few days.

Now, I hear you snigger, for someone who spends most of her recreation time on her back, that shouldn't be too much of a handicap; but seriously, it hurts like hell and, apparently, I was lucky not to have broken it.

Anyway, to all of you out there who are either having a good time or will be at some point over the weekend, spare a thought for poor little, housebound Shelley.

And, to add insult to injury, the bit of my leg that's trussed up in a sticky bandage is already beginning to itch. I wonder if I'll get a discount for only needing one and a half legs waxed once they take it off.

Ho hum...

Here's some medical advice I got from my doctor when I had a similar calamity: Get well soon. Some HMO, hugh?

BTW, feel free to use that in ur own career.

ouch, Shells - landing on your derriere? Not good.
Trust me, were I on the scene, I'd have done the decent Sir Walter Raleigh thing and broken your fall...

Lovely to hear that the evenings with Karin have been going well. Does she do Thai massage?
I do!
