Hints for the New Year

I woke up in a great mood today and then something happenned that threw me into a "feel sorry for me mood."
Today I want to make a few notes for myself.
(You can read them too and use them. They aren't original with me...)

1. Self pity is destructive.
2. Holding grudges only hurts ourselves.
3. Anger hurts ourselves far more than it hurts the ones we are angry at.
4. We are in charge of our own emotions.
5. Don't give others the power to make us happy or sad. We can control how we react to others.

There's a Scottish habit that sounds good to me:
On December 31st, clean out all the old dust from the house so that it is not carried into the new year, and pay all debts so that old debts are not carried into the new year.
Basically it's just meaning that we should take care of the old problems and not carry them into the new year. The new year should be a fresh start for everyone.

ITS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO GET RID OF ALL THE OLD THINGS THAT CAN FOLLOW YOU INTO THE NEW YEAR THAT MAY CAUSE YOU TO BE SAD.

SO GET THE BROOM OUT & SWEEP THEM AWAY.

HAVE A GREAT NEW YEAR!!!!

There is a group of Mexican Aboriginals (can't remember their name) who have a yearly group confessional. Grudges are not allowed outside the confessional. A great purge...
