Today's word is SPIEL.
Spiel [SPEEL] noun: a voluble line of often extravagant talk: a speech delivered especially to sell or promote something
Example: She yawned and looked at her watch as he was wrapping up his spiel and when he was finished she picked up her purse and told him to stay put and don't call her or follow her, this would be the last time he saw her. With no other explanation she stood and left him sitting there alone in the middle of the busy cafe wondering what he'd said wrong.
Haha this word cracks me up. Here's the did you know part: There's more than one "spiel." Today's featured noun sense is well-known, and many of our readers may also be aware that "spiel" can be used as a verb for the act of talking extravagantly. But did you know that the verb can also mean "to play music"? That, in fact, was the word's original meaning — one it shares with its German root, "spielen." ("Spiel" is also found in "glockenspiel," a musical instrument similar to the xylophone.) In Scottish English, "spiel" is also sometimes used as a shortened form of "bonspiel," a name for a match or tournament of the icy game of curling.
Interesting! Anyway I went for a walk in the rain tonight. I actually didn't mind it. Was pretty wet when I got back to my truck but had brought a dry sweatshirt so its all good Work sucks right now and I spend most of my day just trying to keep my head of the water and play nice with everyone. Oh get this, so my son tells me a while ago hey mom my friend Doug (not his real name lol) said hey dude your mom is fuckin hot! I laughed it off but then thought...hey does that make me a MILF? Hope everyone has a great night

Today's word is NOTORIOUS.
Notorious [noh-TOR-ee-us] adjective: generally known and talked of; especially: widely and unfavorably known
Example: His notorious reputation had gotten around so when he asked her out on a date she politely declined and walked away knowing she'd made the correct choice.
Long weekend but today was nice. Well sort of lol. I spend most of the day after church catching up on things. I had a great time at my girlies house last night snuggling on her bed and watching a chick flick. Work has been long and busy and I hope that we get someone hired soon to help me out. Didn't get my planters cleaned up so no planting this weekend. I have an idea though so we'll see what happens with it all lol. I hope y'all have had a great weekend and a fabulous night.

Today's word is PATAGIUM.
Patagium [puh-TAY-jee-um] noun:
1: the fold of skin connecting the forelimbs and hing limbs of some tetrapods (flying squirrels)
2: the fold of skin in front of the main segments of a birds wing
Example: The flying squirrel uses its two patagia to glide from tree to tree.
Hahaha this word makes me laugh! So scientific...who seriously knew that is what that extra skin was called on a flying squirrel? Cool. Super tired tonight, its been a long week and I have to be up early to get my little girl to the vet for a little check up. It looks and sounds like its gonna rain all weekend...that sucks. I did bring home some old newspapers from work so I can do my potting indoors, we'll see how that goes lol. I hope everyone has a great night.

Today's word is UNABASHED.
Unabashed [un-uh-BASHT] adjective: not disconcerted: undisguised, unapologetic
Example: They had taken a walk along the beach after dinner and as they walked quietly she slipped her hand into his and he stopped and she leaned in and whispered in his ear, "I am an unabashed fan of BDSM, will you please tie me up and fuck me?".
When you are "unabashed," you make no apologies for your behavior, but when you are "abashed," your confidence has been shaken and you may feel rather inferior or ashamed of yourself. English speakers have been using "abashed" to describe feelings of embarrassment since the 14th century, but they have only used "unabashed" (brazenly or otherwise) since the late 1500s. Both words can be traced back to the Anglo-French word "abair," meaning "to astonish."
I like the history of this word lol. Anyway I got another walk in tonight, yea me! So I was waiting to cross the street the other day and this truck drove by me and it wasn't until after he'd gone by that I realized I knew him from a while back. What made me smile is he took the time to make it obvious he was looking at me. I only fucked him once and he is younger but damn that boy was HOT. I have a thing for firemen lol Saw him again today and he was smiling as he drove by me lol. That makes me smile and think wow he still thinks about that couple hours that long ago lol....cool! I hope y'all have a great night.

Today's word is CAHOOT.
Cahoot [kuh-HOOT] noun: partnership, league - usually used in plural
Example: Little Maddy's mom and dad worked in cahoots to get the toddle to bed, one bathing and dressing her the other settling her in and reading a story to her as she drifts off to sleep.
I know this word usually means people up to no good but this little sentence just popped into my head for some reason. It works just not the traditional sense of the word. Ok so its another day closer to the weekend! I went for another walk tonight. Haha was all ready for the rain and wouldn't ya know it, it barely sprinkled the whole time I was out. I hope its nice out Saturday, I bought some things to play in the dirt with and get some herbs planted and a flower in my one planter. We'll see lol...what I plant usually doesn't make it more than a month before it dies But I keep trying! I hope y'all have a great night.

Today's word is KOWTOW.
Kowtow [KOW-tow] verb:
1: to show obsequious deference: fawn
2: to kneel and touch the forehead to the ground in token of homage, worship, or deep respect
Example: When he entered the room she bent and kowtowed to him to show her respect and to honor him as her master.
This word originated as a noun referring to the actual act of kneeling and touching the forehead to the ground as a salute or act of worship to a revered authority. In traditional China this ritual was performed by commoners making requests to the local magistrate, by the emperor to the shrine of Confucius, or by foreign representatives appearing before the emperor to establish trade relations. (In the late 18th century, some Western nations resisted performing the ritual, which acknowledged the Chinese emperor as the "son of heaven.") The word "kowtow" derives from Chinese "koutou," formed by combining the verb "kou" ("to knock") with the noun "tou" ("head"). The noun had arrived in English by 1804, and the earliest evidence for the verb dates from 1826.
Pretty cool really. Anyway I went for a walk tonight since I'm feeling better and not even half way through it started raining lol. Whatevs...it didn't stop me and I finished it. Having a veggie night with grilled cheese on wholewheat nom nom! Hope y'all have a great night.

I love today's word. It has so many great meanings and all of them so powerful in my opinion. So I'm starting to feel human again today. I tried doing those icky horrible nasal rinses and they helped a lot. Still feels like I'm drowning but they helped. I'm so excited...my guy surprised me with a visit this weekend! Bummer I have to work tomorrow but I'm sure he'll find something to keep himself busy until I'm off work. And I'm sure having him here will make me better I hope everyone has a great night.
