Someone at Cambridge University has wayyyyy to much time on their hands. But even though our minds translate from "slpeling" to "spelling", the translation breaks the "flow" of the writing and creates a sense of irritation in the reader. Its almost as if we judge the character of the person by their typos. Obvious typos in an email to us leave us with the impression that the writer doesn't care, since they didn't make the effort to proof read.

Yes, I think we all do judge folks by their spelling.....it does show us whether they care to correct their spelling or not. I mean with a computer now a dazeeeeeee all you have to do is use spell check to correct. How hard is this? Maybe an extra step but so what. It will help the writer to look like they are more on the ball.....and give give two shits how they come across to the readers.......
