Sex and dating part 2

For ease of reading the following blogs I have actually posted them in reverse order so that when reading them you can just scroll down the page rather than read a little and scroll up to read a little further. Feel free to comment on any blog entry you like as I value your feedback.

We’ll see ‒ Girlspeak deciphered part 2

We’ll see. Generally we will see means no. Kids work it out fairly early on that when Mum says, “we’ll see” that they usually have little to no change of getting what they want. It merely means that they are being let down gently because their behaviour is not so terrible as to warrant an outright no.

It is the same when women say it to men. When I say we will see, I generally mean no but that I want to let the person down lightly. When being asked for a second or subsequent date, or for anything else for that matter, it is a non-committal way of saying no. It means that they guy in question is not so awful that I do not care enough about his feelings to let him down lightly. If he has been truly dreadful I have no problem with saying an outright no.

Ah, the old "let him down lightly" thing. How about just telling him no? Most guys, me included, don't get all the little nuances of "Girlspeak" and would really appreciate being told "no." Then we know to quit pursuing, move on to something else. "We'll see" is too often perceived as a maybe. Want guys still contacting you that you have no interest in? Tell them no! We're big boys, we can take it.

I have to agree. Men are basically stupid we just want things in black and white otherwise it leads to stupid mistakes on our part
