Idolatry?

This post goes out to Kissmystuff Kissmystuff and GW Bush

Our WordWeb thesaurus/dictionary lists the following for the number two definition of "idolatry."

The worship of idols; the worship of images that are not God. (or Goddess, one presumes.)

The Catholic builds idols of plaster and paint,
The Baptist, of paper and ink;
Both look with alarm at the "pagan" Hindus,
But there isn't much difference, I think!

This was the first "poem" I published via computer, long ago on a network known as Throbnet. Yeah, I know it's doggerel, but isn't it just so true?

I continued on with...

The Soviet government owned all the homes,
And the government flew all the planes;
While here we have taxes and licensing laws...
But you tell me it isn't the same?

I decided to stick to Love/Lust poems after that
I'll post some soon. Stay tuned.

Thanks, interested13563, and thanks for stopping by. I enjoyed reading at your blog too, and will keep at it as well.

What do you think of Edo Nyland, by the way?

I am afraid you will have to inform me on Edo Nyland.
Sorry about my ignorance (it is vast).
