Some Notes I Once Wrote -

I used to read so many philosophic, religious, scientifically theoretical type books that it was ridiculous. These notes were taken during that period which was the early to mid 1990's.

They are simply notes with no reference to any book or books. Just random notes.

I would read books back then with also using blank 3x5 cards for bookmarks and would always fill these bookmarks with tiny notes as I was reading.

Vitrually all of the notes below were residing on both sides of one single and solitary 3x5 card which just a few moments ago surpringly dropped onto me from a bookcase.

Like some form of miniature literary avalanche.

----------------------------

when you fulfill your own abilities, when you express your own personal idealism through acting this out to the best of your own ability in your daily life... in the doing of that you are changing the world for the better.

and this in it's own way can also be considered your own subtle but quite real form of "philanthropy"

before you ever attempt to truly "love your neighbor" (so to speak) or your fellow man in general, you absolutely must first "love yourself" for without that genuine self love as your basis you can never really do an adequate job of loving anyone else

On the surface this general statement might initially seem a bit selfish but it absolutely is not. It is the basis which must first be reached, the absolute prerequisite before you can truly graduate to any real and effective state of loving anyone else.

always trust that you do indeed have within you the answers to the things which you need to know the most. For this is no lie or exaggeration. The answers are there. It is when you do not trust they are there that you have the most difficulty in finding them.

nervousness is a result of carrying doubts. Period. When you become truly self confident within yourself you carry no burden of doubts. And thusly your sense of nervousness is nowhere to be found.

A person who carrys a genuine and deeply held sense of self confidence can not be easily offended nor roused to anger. Not at all easily. Responses of that type are clear and remaining signs of doubts still being held by the individual.

The contents of one, single 3x5 note card

-------------------------------------

While typing these up I paraphrased some of them a bit here and there and polished and embellished then as some of them were wrtten down in a semi abbreviated and incomplete manner. So in the act of more fully fleshing them out they have now become somewhat "personalized" but not in any "too big" manner.

And I still really don't know their source and may not anytime soon. What I do know is that I would never have written them down at all if I did not somehow see some real value in them and some real way that I could actively use them or benefit from them myself.

I hope someone out there will find even a small tadpoles tidbit of this somehow helpfuil or useful.

I guess that might imply that most who have those short fused, powder keg type tempers might not have an overabundance of genuine self confidence.

Here's a postulate I just made up bouncing off that genreal line of thought. And just for fun I'll give it twice using different sets of words.

The true level of your own self confidence can often be gauged by the degree of vehemence you extend to the verbal defense of youself from nonchalantly delivered, playfully intentioned, harmless accusations.

same thing - other words

If you get so riled up defending yourself from what are essentially just well intentioned, "joking around" comments you are displaying that you don't have a whole lot of basic self confidence.

Here is one of the quotes I jotted down today.. as I was reading

"author is unknown" -->

"Watch your thoughts for they become words,
Choose your words for they become actions,
Understand your actions for they become habits,
Study your habits for they become character,
Develop your character for it becomes your destiny."

This is actually off the subject, but I'm going to answer your question on the "LOA House" post.

Yes, King Diamond is from Denmark, however, he currently lives in Texas.

Come into my realm! You aren't afraid...are you?

Hi "Fallen from Grace",

These ideas you drop here are fairly well aligned with my own conviction that our thoughts and dreams are the literal seeds of reality that then quite quickly germinate and sprout into physical manifestation before our very eyes.

In this way Collectively (and singularly) all of us is indeed the creator.(all grammar in that sentence is deliberate) And no value intended to be taken away here from some guy who was thought to have been nailed to a cross (someone else quite gladly went up in his place) but as that myth is commonly understood the symbol now used for which it stands is quite definitely functioning as a false idol.

For it to function properly the image of Mr. H. Christ needs to be extracted and replaced with a mirror.

But any mirror at all will function for this porpoise.

And meeting your maker is as simple as looking into one.

Michelangelo painted a picture of all of us on the ceiling of the cistine chapel and that particular "all of us" (three letter word - starts with "G" ) is reaching out to touch our own earthly hand (that mythic dude from the garden of Eden).

Conceptually I know this is a stretch for many but one of the hardest parts of having become part of the "physical cycle" is remebering that we ourselves sent us here in a boarding school-like manner for our own overall growth and betterment. Even if "growth and betterment" does not sometimes seem to be what is really going on.

Personally I harbor few doubts that in the overall bigger picture it definitely is what is going on.

PS. Garden of Eden translantes directly into "Goddadavida". The guys in Iron Butrterfly claimed that drugs and booze inadvertently helped them to create that particular lyrical invention. And somehow I am inclined to believe them.

PS2. And I like thinking that the 'H' in Mr. H Christ stands for either Heironymous or Horatio.

KC,
Once again you have enlighten me, This is knowledge that was already installed in my psyche but had been moved to the back of my mind for some reason. Thank you for posting this entry, they are all great but I must say that my favorite is "before you ever attempt to truly "love your neighbor" (so to speak) or your fellow man in general, you absolutely must first "love yourself" for without that genuine self love as your basis you can never really do an adequate job of loving anyone else" and of course the "A person who carrys a genuine and deeply held sense of self confidence can not be easily offended nor roused to anger. Not at all easily. Responses of that type are clear and remaining signs of doubts still being held by the individual...................once again thank you KC, hope you are doing good.

Hey Kinque,

Thanks for commenting beacuse I tore the hair off of my cajones (see item 1 on Six Whacked Facts About My Gonads) last week looking for your new blog and realized that I had not even saved it to my favorites list.

And I'm glad you liked that old collection of quotes which mysteriously rained down on me a few days ago. I've again started to attempt The Mother of all Spring Cleanings and I saw a few more of those note cards floatng around while doing that and may soon be posting some more of my lost Notes From the 90's

And did you also check out my epic length 100th post? Way too much info about me in that one. For that reason I will not make it too easy on you by providing an easy link to it but it's still pretty easy to get to despite that lack of "spoon feeding".

But if you really enjoy being spoon fed just let me know. I'm good for it.

    Quoting NickRules999:

Hey NickRules999,

No worries about topic hopping. I actually encourage that in my blog. I like seeing what differrent ideas people are somehow led to other than the original one beig discussed. Sometimes where you end up if you do that is more interestig than the founding topic.

And thanks for finally clearing up that King Diamond mystery for me. So he's in Texas full time. It makes sense though. Denmark is not the best country to be in if your goal is to have much exposuree outside of the country itself. It's also about the worst place in the world to pay taxes. Especially if you happen to occasionally have a very good year or two financially which is often the case with "rock band" incomes.

An example. If , from out apparently nowhere the Danish govt. sees you now pulling in six figures ($100,000.00 a year) they will straight up take about 80% of it. And in that country the government has direct access to your bank acounts too to the bank is not the safest place to keep money there.

Comparitavely I usually carry the (slightly exaggerated) idea that we don't even pay taxes at all here. That's sure what it felt like when I came back from living there. And thusly you'll never hear a word of complaint from me about paying taxes in the US.

And back to the subject of where bands are based out of... do you know if either Ministry or the Butthole Surfers are still calling The Lone Star State their home?

It's been awhile since I've checked up on what either of those Texas based bands are doing.

I'm not sure about Ministry or the Butthole Surfers. I haven't heard anything from either of those bands in a long time.

Come into my realm! You aren't afraid...are you?

I used to do that - use a card for a book-mark and make notes on things that were meaningful to me. I like everything you wrote down and it tells a bit about you that these are the things you focused on - all good. Great post! Thank you!
