The Truth Be Told....

You know that feeling you get when a huge weight has been lifted off your shoulders? I have that feeling now. I talked to my friend last night, got the Little White Lie incident resolved, and have a new respect for him. I know it was hard for him to admit he lied, but it was the best thing for our friendship. There’s no longer an elephant in the room that we’re trying hard to ignore and tip-toe around. Without relying too heavily on trite phrases, the air has been cleared, and there’s nothing better than breathing clean, fresh air.

I figured since I vented in my previous post, I needed to tell the rest of the story as soon as I knew it. Mission accomplished!

Having the weight lifted is always great. A few months ago I had a great weight lifted. I mentioned in response to your "white lie" post about a gal I work with that I can tell just about anything too. Well one time I type her name in Google and discovered some information that was way too personal, and I felt like I had violated her privacy (which was not my intent, but it bothered me anyway). Then one day I managed to clear the air by letting her know that I knew what I had discovered about her, and I also told her that I discovered it by typing her name in Google. When I told her what I knew her jaw dropped, because she told me that she had not told anyone about it. I think it was good for her to talk about it, and actually drew the 2 of us closer (which I've yet to decide whether that is good or bad).

As a side note I thought about you today when I was downloading music. Kenny Rankin a jazz vocalist has a song call Haven't We Met. It is a song about the old pick up line and he says it the song, that somewhere he read that Romeo said to Juliet "pardon me, haven't we met". It's a great song, done in a upbeat jazz waltz. Having a profile that talked about Juliet and Romeo, you came to mind, so I figured I'd check your blog today.

I am glad you have cleared the air... hopefully it creates a new base of honesty upon which you both can build!

Good luck!
