Overrated Words

The two most overrated words in the English language today are the words "I promise". I don't know about the rest of you but I know when someone uses those words in a conversation with me I never hold my breath. Promises are made to be broken.
I have a six year old daughter who reminds me everyday not to make a promise I can not keep. I did that once and had to renenge on the promise and it hurt me more than it did her. She forgave me. But one day I am gonna surprise her and get her the thing I promised her because that is how I am.
In most cases my word is my bond. If I tell someone I am gonna do something for them then I do it. If someone asks me for something and I can deliver then I do it if I can't at least I am honest about it and say no I can't help with that.
So here is a tip for all those men out there and even the ladies too. If you promise something then DO IT. If it is something you can't do then SAY IT. But don't use the words "I promise" unless you really mean what you say. Otherwise you might end up losing friends, jobs, lovers, children and a host of other things because your words meant nothing.

Ok rant over

I agree with you Juicy! If you can't follow through, then don't say a word.
