Libido Decrease In Women Over 40?

I just read a question posted in the Magazine by a man married to a woman over 40. He asked does a woman's sex drive decrease when the turn 40? I would say not for me. I do feel blessed though, that it has increased. Sex is so very pleasurable!!!! I did do some review of some facts about what affects a woman's libido.
Each woman is different. A woman's libido is affected by various factors. Hormone Imbalances affect libido: Every woman has a certain level of testosterone(male hormone) which affects our sexual desire. Also women's estrogen fluctuate on a daily basis which affects our sexual desire. Stress affects libido: Our bodies put survival above sexual pleasure. An over-burden adrenal gland will rob our body of the building blocks for estrogen and testosterone. Nutritional Deficiencies affect libido: Chronic dieting impacts or enegy and self image, thus our sex drive. Low-fat or no-fat diets cause problems because they rob our body or lipids that are needed to produce hormones. Some say the brain is the most important sexual organ. Libido is affected by emotional and psychological well being. For many women our sexual idenity is rooted in our sense of attractivness to men. As our bodies change at mid-life we may feel less than desireable and less interested in sex. Females are said to be sexually aroused by their own pheromones so feeling sexy is necessary to feel desire. The health of a relationship affects libido: If needs are not being met and there is no open communication about it, if you aren't treated with respect and fairness, if you partner is self-absorbed or self-destructive can destroy intimacy and trust(these keep sexual desire alive over the long term. It should also be mentioned that it is estimated that 1 out of 3 women have experienced sexual trauma. As women we need to explore this issue with professional help. There is no shame in seeking help!!! Physical changes in the Vagina can affect libido: Some women experience thinning, tightening, and dryness in the vagina. These changes can cause pain during intercourse and decrease sexual desire. Hope these facts help!!!

I too am thankful this has not happened to me. Mine's increased tenfold and it's at times embarrassing.

Now where was that post again about lining up lovers like a baseball bullpen list .........
