What Next!!

A little while ago I told you all about my piercing and wondered ”What next”. Well last Saturday, 29th October was my birthday. That’s right I have now reached the ripe old age of 48!! Shocking isn’t it. Well it is to me, I never expected to live this long. But I supposed the saying is that only the good die young and I must have been too naughty to qualify! I should be grateful really.

Well anyway, to get back to the point of this blog. In desperate pursuit of my mid-life crisis I decided that next was going to be a choice between a tattoo and having my nipples pierced, so I went for the less painful option. Well, what I believed would be the less painful option. I chose the tattoo.

We arrived at the tattoo studio quite late on the Saturday afternoon, not really expecting to be able to go ahead that day, but the place was quite quiet except for a very thin pale young man who was having his eyebrows “repaired “ after having let his friend tattoo them in for him! ….. Not sure how he is going to live the rest of his life with two very large dark blue eyebrows, but each to their own.

Well after looking through literally hundreds of designs I settled on this one. It is on the base of my back and it is black with grey shading. Here is the photo which will show up better when it heals. This photo was taken on the day I had it done.

I was allocated a very attractive young man to draw my tattoo but unfortunately he had a cold and coughed several times over back while working! “That can’t be good” I thought. He stopped for my pain after about 15 minutes, and I turned to him and said “are we done?” He replied “Well that’s the out line done” It must have taken nearly an hour to complete. In the meantime four girls all had fairies tattooed on their right hips, souvenirs of their trip to Whitley Bay. What happened to sticks of rock and postcards?

Anyway to cut an already long story short, after the tattoo we went for a very nice meal a couple of beers then home.

So, It is done I love it and it marks the start of a disgraceful slide into early middle age.

And lovely it looks.

But I think middle age started a few years ago

Lovely tattoo ... but I strongly suspect that the piercing would have been the less painful option!

And 48 is a wonderful age to start living disgracefully A belated happy birthday to you!
