It can weary the most persistant

You know that feeling when you've had a bit of contact with someone, and they seem interested in you? That quiet hope that just maybe this will work out in your favor?

Then perhaps you know how heavy it is to feel them reject you? Perhaps you might even know that slow agonizing death of hope as they cease contact without telling you they've lost interest? When you wait for them to reply to your latest mail, msg, or whatever, and they don't... They just leave you there, waiting... Waiting... Until one day you realize they've dumped you without even letting you know.

Now that's painful enough to break most people I've met, if only momentarily. Thing is, I keep running into it all the time.

Don't get me wrong, I understand people do not have the time to respond to every message they get. But once they show a bit of interest (by speaking back and forth for a bit in a manner suggesting there might be something there), it strikes me as disrespectful and just plain mean not to tell someone you wish to break it off.

Now, anyone reading this needn't worry. 'cause I haven't had any conversations that long here, but I have on other similar sites that are more localized to my area.
