7. Good friends are dependable.

8. Good friends respect each other.

9. Good friends are trustworthy.

Isn't it wonderful?

And the best part it that is actually does come from a guide for teaching very young children! But, sometimes life gets so tough on us, we all need a little refresher course.

Thanks for dropping by the grotto and sharing your thoughts.

Quite a coincidence really, I was just reading Aristotle's take on the same subject in his writings on ethics and values. We DO all need a little refresher now and then.

Hello Andy and thanks for dropping into my grotto for a visit.

Aristotle! I'm swooning. But it's true. . .sometimes we get so tied up in the drama of our days, we forget the simplest things we learned as kids. . .like "play nice."

Yes, it is good to be reminded now and again of the basics. This is particularly good as it applies romantic relationships. That foundation of friendship is so important to make the relationship stable and lasting.

Not all who wander are lost.

Hi again, Flinky! Wonderful to have you visit the grotto again.

And you're absolutely right. This is so vital to a romantic/intimate relationship. Those who seek a "quick fix" without the accompaniment of these basics are cheating themselves out of richer, far more fulfilling and exciting experiences.

I think about the unintended one-night stands I've had, versus the encounters I've experienced with men I've made friends with and there is simply no comparison. Talk about like water for chocolate!
