Extravagances Sensuelles, Partie Cinq
|Sensual Extravagances, Part Five|
Setting the tone with a tune. . .
"Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent." -- Victor Hugo
Setting a romantic mood with music is probably as old as the world's oldest profession. Couples have been jamming to a good jam for eons.
So, which music makes you think of sex the moment you hear it? What song brings back fond memories of hours lost to passion and ecstatic release?
Musical taste is an intensely individual thing. I'll share a few that come to mind immediately when I want to shift the temperature in the room from lukewarm to Fire hot!
Rock or metal:
"I Want to Fuck You Like an Animal," by Nine Inch Nails
"Don't Stand So Close to Me," by the Police
"Seven Veils," by Lucie Silvas
"The Air That I Breathe," KD Lang
"Breathe Me," by Sia
Blues/R & B:
"Slow Tongue," by Millie Jackson
"I'll Be Your Lover, Too" by Van Morrison
"Harder," by Resist
"Sola Sistim," by Underworld
"Gorecki," by Lamb
"Love and Fear," by Morcheeba
"Gabriel," by Lamb
"Glory Box," by Portishead
"Roads," by Portishead
"Firefly," by Alpha
"Little Gem," by Euphoria
"Mystic's Dream," by Loreena McKennitt
"Coming Down Gently," by Morcheeba
"Somewhere, Nowhere" by Cinephile
"My Beautiful Blue Sky," by Moby
"Calamity Jane," by Supreme Beings of Leisure
"So Much More," by Supreme Beings of Leisure
And my favorite album for love making--that I didn't burn from mp3s I've selected--is by a New Flamenco/World Beat/Trance group called B Tribe, entitled, of course, "Sensual Sensual."
What tunes do you want on in the background, or driving your rhythm?
