If today were a man, I'd kick him in the balls

My faith in humanity as a whole was brutally shaken today. I can't go into detail, but suffice it to say it was an extremely difficult day with big lessons learned.

So...to recap....what I've learned this week...

1. Trust no one
2. Friends turn on you if offered the right incentive
3. Romance isn't just dead....it's been embalmed and buried yet still managed to dry into dust and blow away.
4. Family first
5. Work always sucks, it just sucks less on some days than others.

Sound about right?

1. Yup. Welcome to the party. The vodka is in the freezer. Go for it.
2. Not if they're actually friends. Opportunists turn on you. They will never be friends. We can mistake them for friends but...in the end, they love no one but themselves.
3. Totally wrong. I wear my heart out on my linen pants for the world to see when I'm in love. It's f-ing sickening.
4. Yup. And all the ambiguity that entails.
5. Oh, yeah. That's why the gods of slackerdom gave us the internet, so we can pretend to be working when we are actually reading celebrity gossip. Free coffee, too.

I'm sorry you had a rough week but....

1....always trust yourself...that gut instinct. You are some 'one'...don't forget that!

2. They were not friends in the beginning if they turned on you. Also try to remember that there are always 2 (or more) sides to every story...ask them why before judging...if they don't answer then yes, they were opportunists as 'agathon12' noted...

3. Romance is alive if YOU make it.

4. VERY TRUE!

5. I actually enjoy my job as I get to help people out when they need it.

Hope your weekend works out better for you!

It sucks that you're feeling this way and we all do.

When I feel like this, I try to remember the stuff that I do have, I try to focus on the positive, I can see, I can hear, I can speak, walk and talk (sometimes not all at the same time though.. lol) You can choose to make sure that other people's issues don't affect you, it's very easy to say, and very difficult to do.

I have to admit, I agree with you on romance being dead, even in my own heart sometimes...

Lemonade out of lemons,
Janie
