Another Blackberry Bites the dust

anywhere..which is good and bad.Guess the saying is true - you dress me up, but you can't take me anywhere.

When our company switched to these "can't live without" blackberry's, back in February, we were warned of the expense. I had refused for the first month to switch to this monsterous sized piece of electronic. It's like talking on a brick. But alas, they company caught on that I had been flying under the radar. Well it wasn't worth my job - so I switched. I have to say - I do like the little keypad to do emails and text message. But as far as phone usage goes - it sucks!! I believe I made the switch on a Monday - - - this was while I was working in Ft. Meyers. That next Saturday we went to the beach for a night of dancing. Before Midnight... I had lost it. Actually it was I can't really be held accountable can I? So now, I not only didn't have the blackberry or a cell phone - - ohhhhh, this did not go over well with the higher ups. It took them over a week to get me back into communication land.

Since then, I've gotten use to the little thing. Though's comforting to know it's always there on my hip. I can email from

WELL - I finally got to go out last night. And somewhere on Bourbon Street - is my Blackberry, holster and all. Trying to type at 2AM and tell the IT people, and my boss...oh lord - I only hope it made sense.

Now - I sit..again with no communication other than my computer to the outside world. Voicemails going unchecked - - can't send text messages....and I used it as my alarm clock.... WHAT WILL I DO?

The peace and quiet is inviting... I think I will sleep......for the first time in months.

LoL, I switched over to a Blackberry earl this year as well. The things it can do are amazing! The lack of privacy is unnerving! They are awesome, they are addictive, they are vile evil items.

By the way, if you get another one, if you would like to chat, let me know, I'll give you my PIN or something.

I'd be honored to get to know you.

I never know if I love or hate my blackberry. I was on enough flights last year to clock in over 150k miles, so the convienience of having instant communications on landing is huge. Get lost, just ask someone to email you the directions, ASAP.

It is fairly big. And it isn't nearly as cool as the Pocket PC's, but THEY are useless without a real connection to the world. Somehow, I haven't lost mine yet. Lost a few other things. For me, I leave chargers behind. I now have THREE expensive replacement notebook chargers and have gone through 4 or 5 phone chargers. At least you can buy them in airports...

Sounds like you "get" to travel a lot. Have fun on the road, wink wink.

PS - What about that story we're waiting to hear about...

Chargers.... I seem to buy a new one in every city I go to. I either leave one at home, at my desk at the office...or in the car. Then I have to get another.

And then work has to get all my data and transfer it. They are a great bunch of guys - - and if I flirt enough with then, they get me what I need, because it is me. LOL

Oh the story.... I assume you mean "The Proposition".... that story is coming (though it's none too exciting)

I'm glad I don't even know what a blackberry is, but from reading this blog I'm getting an idea. I don't really like my cell phone it's like an invisible leash that people tug on. It has come in handy though.

I received my new blackberry - which everyone in the company has so kindly named "cherry" just for me.

And wouldn't you know - my cherry doesn't work. Without the SIM is of no use.

I could make it a coaster for my cokes - - but my cherry is kind of odd shaped and it would just fall off.

I could put my cherry in my pocket - but why have a cherry if it doesn't vibrate?

Uh oh.... I feel another blog coming on...... LOL
