Seducing with a pair of Boxers

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution reads:

Congress shall make no law ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press

Similarly, Section 2(b) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms reads as follows:

Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms: ... (b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication

Freedom of expression is a right protected by many countries worldwide. Unfortunately, there are also many countries in the world that don't protect this right. We, being more fortunate than our unprotected counterparts, sometimes feel that we should exercise this right simply because we can, almost as a celebration of our freedom. Controversial radio programs are aired, radical documents are written, and even blogs that semi-seriously analyze inconsequential issues are available for all to read.

But some people have just gone too far; some people, in their excessive fervor and zeal, feel the need to express themselves when they really have nothing to express, and no audience to which they can express themselves.

"What the hell is HotLil talking about?" you may ask.

I am referring to the abuse of freedom of expression that is committed by the majority of North Americans: pictures and patterns on underwear.

Of all the pointless things I have ever thought about, I think that smiley faces and Rolling Stones lips are right up there with neckties and goldfish on my useless list. To think that some guy is sitting in a mansion, knowing that he is the one who made it big by sticking plaid on boxers, makes me want to strangle him with an unwashed pair. (should use bardicman's 3 day pair)

Of all the media for expression, why would anyone choose this? The whole idea of them is that they go under pants (any idea where the name came from?)! How can someone walk down the street with rows of bright red hearts lining their boxers, and feel like he is expressing himself?

Now, there are two arguments that I have thought of, that you may be thinking can be used against me:

1. But people don't actually buy boxers to express themselves! Like you said, that you would ridiculous!

You may be right, but consider what is going through your mind when you head over to the underwear department of a store. Why would you choose one pair over another? You can't try them on, so comfort can't be a reason. The only reason, assuming they have your size, is how they look! When it comes down to a green pair or a blue pair, you make a conscious decision to choose one over the other! But why? Who cares?!

2. I'll tell you who cares! Whoever you're with when you take them off! The person also being known as the one you are seducing.

Good point. But, you clearly have more pairs of underwear than you do opportunities to "use" them. (or at least we hope you do) When you wake up Saturday morning, you put on a pair of underwear. If you plan to go out that night, you'll hopefully shower and change. The bottom line is that nobody may see what you wear that morning! How do you choose? Why do you even have to choose?! Why not just remain boxer-less?

Asking these questions is probably as pointless as some of the designs themselves. There will always be underwear with hideous patterns on them, no matter what I say. But at least think about it, because I'll bet you didn't before. And if you have, well, now you know that you are not alone.

Don't get me wrong. I love a sexy pair of boxers and I don't even mind certain patterns, however, as of late, I have noticed that underwear designers are becoming workaholics and are over-designing. Some designs just should not be worn on a mans fannie.

So, until Calvin Klein gets the picture (and gets rid of the pictures), I'd like you all to make sure you never become workaholics. Workahol just isn't the answer.

Keep it bent south,

Thanks Lil now I know what to get ya for Christmas. I'm thinking the Rolling Stones lips would look nice or maybe some with a DICKens theme print. What size are you?

Myself I have:

The Ginch

Happy waving Santa - Actually it's a little distrubing now that you make me think about it

One with Scoorge saying Bah Hum Bug next to my naughty bits - Yeah that one's odd

One that says Naughty or Nice on the waist band - I prefer naughty of course

One with polar bears - I'm not sure why polar bears but I guess it's less disturbing than sheep

A bright orange pair with Joe Cool saying When You're Hot You're Hot - I wear that one hunting and jogging for visibility safety

My favorite is my Tigger pair - Why is Tigger my favorite?
Because ...

The most wonderful thing about Tiggers,
is Tiggers are wonderful things.
Their tops are made out of rubber,
their bottoms are made out of springs.
They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!

But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is,
I'm the only one.
Oh, III'm the only one!

Oh, the wonderful thing about Tiggers is,
Tiggers are wonderful chaps.
They're loaded with vim and vigor.
They love to leap in your lap.
They're jumpy, bumpy, clumpy, thumpy,
Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!

But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is ...
III'm the only one!

So I showed you mine. What do you wear Lil?

What's the picture of with your post? It's in the shape of boxers but I can't figure out what the design is supposed to be.

I've become a regular boxer-brief guy myself. For comfort & sexiness, I think they rule.

Regarding patterned boxers: I'm all for them. They're just fun.
You walk up to the display in the store and think, "what kind of guy am I?" Am I blue or brown? Happy faces or rock tour? Sure, mostly nobody will know, but wearing the boxers is like walking down the street with theme music playing in your head.

I have to ask, what are "sexy" boxers?

LOL ... The picture is funny

You still didn't confess as to whether or not you have any underwear with silly designs. Hopefully none with chickens being choked.

Now I am confused....

It is the gose and gander thing ...

Is it OK for a woman to wear sexy, flirty underwear but not so for a guy ???

I'll admit I wouldn't get caught dead in the above mentioned spongebobsquarepants ... lol but hey ... a funny pattern or two ... been known to do

If undies are undies, why does my wife need an organizer for her underwear drawer? Admit it, you have certain pair that you favour over others...ones that have worked in the past, that feel better when doing various ativities. If this weren't the case, then there would be no such thing as thongs, and all women's panties would be the same. Just maybe (although I hope not) underwear are the new windows to the soul...both are not pretty sights when streaked!
