Just A Little South Of Heaven

The mornings going to be cold
And the trees will stand silent
Casualtys I'm afraid
In the wars of the seasons
Its always the innocence that dies first
Along with the innocent
The mists of morning will hang there
The fog of battle
So elemental
That it takes no notice of me
As I walk out onto strategic ground
The fighting all around me
The sun struggling to come up
Its warmth mortally wounded
By cold Canadian winds
Its rays muted by a traitorous dawn
The elements switch sides at will
They have no heart
No sense of loyalty
The rain abjuring the sky
And the sky turning on the moon
Who's butchered
Just as she pulls the bloody blankets
Of early morning around her

Just as suddenly
All is silent
I return unaware
That it will all begin again
Tomorrow morning
Same time same place
And I'm beginning to wonder
If it might not be a little safer
Just a little south of here

The elements are brutal sometimes....its the way life is

Very nice...as always you amaze me. Traitorous Dawn? lol could have used a different word
