I need HELP......

I am asking for help from those of you who know something about computers.

I have screwed with this computer and can't fix my problem.

I can't see text colors, or back ground colors.

You know when a person blogs, and they have a different text color, or they put the pretty back ground on thier blogs, I can't see the colors.

I can see the colors of the A.F.F logos and the pictures of people, just not when the type in the commands to change the color of thier text, or back ground. Or when we go into the group chat room and others are using different colors for thier text, I only see black.

And some sites I go to if they are done in yellow, I can't see it at all. Like on A.L.T. I can't see any of the blogs titles, due to the color of text they are using.

And if I change the color of the text on my blog I can't see it at all.

This is black to me! What do you see?

I have fiddled with everything!

I see red on the line you said was black.
Don't have a clue what you've done, but it may have something to do with your computer recognizing HTML code..perhaps?

(What the fuck is this shit..?? *rolls eyes*)

sounds like one of the color guns on the monitor is shot, assuming its a CRT (tv) type and not and not a flat panel.

Borrow someones monitor and check if that fixes the problem

Check your display settings in your control panel. Or it could be a problem like expat said. Either way more information about your kind of operating system and computer would be helpful so someone can help. Good luck.

it is very unusual for a newer monitor to change on it's own. so first guess would be a cable problem. make sure the cable that goes from the computer to the monitor is pushes in all the way on both ends.

on most monitors since about 2000, there is an electronic control panel (some buttons to push) on the front to make adjustments. try to go through the on screen menu and find auto adjust. if that doesn't work, try to manually adjust the color.

on older monitors there are usually knobs to turn and one of those knobs is for the color. if your minotor is older (not lcd/plasma), it could be one of the color guns is bad. since you don't see red and you have problems with yellow, my guess is red.

have one of your blogging fans buy you a new monitor.

if you have questions, you can post off subject on my top blog - whatever that may be.

if any of this helped, can i be the second man on the face of this earth to play fucking games with you. i luv to play.

It started when I got my new tower. A Dell Dimension 3000.

after i wrote this, my first advice is to call dell. especially if you got a new computer and monitor.

did you get a new monitor when you got your new tower?

try this. unscrew the cable that attaches to monitor to the computer. you may be able to do this at one or both ends of the cable. look inside the end of the cable and see if any of the pins are bent. they all should be "at attention". if they are bent then i'm sure you will know what to do - that is get some tweezers and straighten out the bent pin(s).

then put the cable back on. make sure the cable is in all the way and tighten it. if a pin is not in all the way, one of the colors (in this case red) may not display.

also if you have a video adapter on your computer, make sure that is plugged in all the way. a video adapter is something that goes between the connector on the cable from the monitor and the computer. do you have one on those? (DVI/AGP adapter)

if the computer is new and the monitor is new then in this order:

cable/connector problem

video card not properly seated
(i've seen this with dell).
if there is a video card (not video built into the motherboard), you or someone needs to open the tower case and make sure the card is pushed all the way in. (push down on the card where the vidoe is connected.)

out of adjustmen / bad monitor

Sounds like you need to go into control panel and check out your device settings. you probably have some conflicting devices in your display which could be fucking with your monitor. or try unplugging everything from your tower and plugging it back in. another thing could be that you've got your size and pixels selected in your display settings

_____It looks red to me. I know you haven't fiddled with reloading the operating system because you don't have the disk, and you haven't taken it back to the store yet. I guess that's next
