Strippers

I watched a movie on HBO this morning entitled, "Dancing At The Blue Iguana." For those of you who haven't seen it, the premise is based upon the different personalities and struggles of a group of strippers at a club. I thought the movie was well done in terms of the character studies.

What is your opinion of strippers? Be specific if you have time.

There are a few strippers that post on another forum I frequent. Except for their occupation, they don't stand out from the other members. I never asked them if they get less respect from jackass customers or from prudes, but I have to wonder. If strippers enjoy their job, then perhaps they're demeaning themselves less than those of us who do things we're not crazy about to satisfy our employers.

I don't get much satisfaction from watching strippers strip. My last trip to a strip joint was decades ago, and only because my brother begged me to go. Still, I respect strippers and their profession.

I have a great deal of respect for strippers, lap dancers, exotic dancers & paid sex workers.

"Objectification" is the word I get most of the time when bringing up this topic (not that it's on my rotation of conversation pieces).

Dan--I agree with your thought about if they enjoy stripping, then they might as well--most of us don't enjoy our "normal" jobs anyway.

Phoenix--Yes, "respect" is the word I was looking for.

Amber--I usually keep a extra pole and thong in my travel luggage

Shaye--I can see why you'd be approached to be a stripper--you're quite a looker! Drugs, yes they do seem to be all over in the dressing rooms of the strip joints (not that I've ever been back there--just word of mouth).

To be quite honest I know several of them. Granted they are just like any other person with their insecurities and idiosyncrasies that I have ever worked with. Some come from abusive or dysfunctional homes and don't do drugs. Some come from very prominent and 'good' families and are druggies or alcoholics.

Some see their body as a commodity and a business. They are educated and saving their money and keeping their perspective. Those are the ones that I have the utmost respect for.

I think they are courageous women who either choose or have no choice but to do such a thing in order to support themselves and their children.
I do admire their ability to seperate the job and their family life. All I know is I could not do it.
I was approached by a High End Escort to work for him and my clients would only be doctors, lawyers and judges...If at the time I needed to survive I would have taken him up for it. This was only a year and a half ago. It seems this ole lady can still kick up her stilleto and attract men, hehehe.
hugs,
flo

...i think there's a stripper in all of us...
perhaps the timing isn't right...perhaps the need isn't there...
perhaps it kicked ya in the ass and you're right in the middle of it.

total respect from me..

Nothing is ever the same... when it comes to pleasures.

with a hint....the erotic senses will manifest into an abounding mess of flesh

the mind needs fulfillment of the body

if it feels good ...it is good

I've done it again...*S*

I find strippers fascinating. If I were doing a PhD in psychology, I would write a thesis on strippers and their motivation. I respect them completely--for whatever reason they decided to go into the profession (yes, I did use the word profession). I've known a couple of strippers in my lifetime, and it is a difficult road (at least for the one's I knew). I have no problem supporting them (emotionally or financially).

I love seeing strippers...male AND female. Actually, I'd much rather go see female strippers over the men. I also have lots of respect for them. Just because they strip doesnt make them any less of a person than the next. Its a "job" that they choose to do and why not have fun doing it,right? It makes it all the better! If I can go every single week, I would! I love watching the eroticism they finesse and the eye contact, most of all! Ahhhh....and those naughty thoughts that go through my ......body! Whew, yessssssssssss! lol
