Sarbanes/Oxley - That S/Ox!

WASHINGTON, AC/DC: Members of congress, while trying to decide just what the Sarbanes/Oxley standards really mean, stumbled on an issue expected to have major repurcussions for adult web sites. Sarbanes/Oxley, or S/Ox, was passed in response to the abuses at Enron, WorldCom, and Abu Ghraib.

One of the stipulations of the S/Ox act states that computer logins must be assigned to a single user. Organizations which previously shared user IDs and passwords will now need a distinct user ID for each user.

As a result, congressional comments have suggested that couples will need to have seperate accounts if both might at some time send email or post to a blog.

Congress is further investigating if this also means that married couples who frequent these sights will now be legally required to swing seperately.

Senator Ted Kennedy said, "We ah looking into this - I am hoping to puhsonally look into this by visiting several of these sites, and exchanging sex chat with these couples." Asked if he thinks S/Ox may be repealed due to the draconian measures, the senator said, "I, ahh, could swing either way on this issue."

SOX has been a nightmare for me in my work life. I like your take on it much better and will think of it and smile everytime I hear it now!

Albert - Caught me. Even if I had used the Spell Check, it wouldn't have caught that one. Look at you, mr. editor in chief...

greeneyes - I believe you have created what we programmer types call an endless loop. Function call:HardlyBreathing blog with a matching Funcion call:HardlyYours blog...I've been bouncing between the two all night. Not my idea of fun nocturnal activity.

dawn - Thanks. Sox sucks, but it does guarantee employment for a large number of consultants. I like to think of it as the 21st century equivalent of the public works projects of the 30's - that prevents me from banging my head against the wall 'til it bleeds when I consider the nightmare my life has become as a result of this insidious pile of b.s. Whew! That feels better!
