At this point, moving to Wisconsin is looking like more of a reality. I will have to go through my stuff and figure out what I really want to keep and what I can leave behind. It looks like it will be more economical to leave my furniture and replace it later. It has been suggested that I sell my truck rather than driving half way across the country. I am reluctant to give it up because it is the one thing of value that I own. It may not seem like much to anyone else, but it is mine. On the other hand, driving from Spokane to Appleton would be a long, and expensive trip; gas, food, and hotel rooms...
I will stay with my parents until I get back on my feet. They have offered to fly me out and let me use one of their vehicles. I may have to do that, whether I want to or not.
I don't like the thought of leaving my friends behind either. My father was in the Air Force and I have moved more times than I care to count. One might get used to it, but it does not get easier. When I get there I am sure I will make new friends, and there are some groups that I plan to start with; the Society for Creative Anachronism, the Folklore Society, I will look around and see what other groups look interesting. It is still kind of daunting... with all the unknowns. Still, I think it will be a good change.
