I am a dog person.

Some people are cat people and some are dog people. I prefer dogs while I put up with cats. I don’t know why but cats seem to be attracted to me. I have been adopted by a cat I call bashful. People adopt dogs and the dog adjusts while cats adopt people.

The reason why I like dogs over cats is I like to play with them while I can’t play with cats the same way. However while I have to keep my dog on a leash, locked up in my house or behind a fence while my cat runs free. My dog likes to sleep with me at the foot of my bed while the cat has her own place in he living room where she likes to sleep.

My dog (Skeeter) never leaves my side she likes the constant attention while my cat is totally independent. I never get any attention from her unless her food bowl or water dish is empty and she is hungry or thirsty. Then she sits in the middle of the room and cries. However Skeeter will jump up on me then run to her bowl telling me she wants food. Then she rubs up against me eagerly waiting while I pour her food into her bowl. Then after she is finished eating she runs to my side or jumps up in my lap for some lovin.

When I return home Skeeter likes to jump up on me to get some lovin while Bashful remains hidden and could care less. Skeeter lets me know when someone is coming to the door. She growls and runs over to the door barking. She has learned to back away from the door when I open it and wait for her rewards.

I guess it all boils down to this. Skeeter like to spend her time with me while Bashful likes being left alone to do whatever it is that she does.
