Co-workers, friend or foe?

Another Monday shot to hell. At least while I've been rehabilitating from my arm surgery in February, I've been riding shotgun with my best friend.

I've learned in my many years, of different employers, that the people you work with on a daily basis, are the best, and sometimes the only way of deciding how much you like a job. Of course, there are the miniscule numbers of management we can get along with, the majority of which are out to cover their own asses. Every once in a thousand blue moons, luck blesses you with a boss you can honestly say you enjoy working with/for.

If you have to spend every minute, of every day, watching your back for that proverbial dagger, or the manager who you KNOW is going to jump your shit for the stupidest of reasons, you are doing nothing more than eroding yourself into a non-entity.

How I got so lucky to work with the crew I'm with, to have learned so much from them, and so very little from the formal training programs, I may never know. But they have my loyalty and trust, and endless gratitude. I've finally found a place I enjoy working, with people I look forward to spending the day with.

Fuzz I know how you feel !

I was lucky enough to work with a great bunch of kids for several months - I think I not only saw them as an extended family, but they helped keep ME young too !

Then I was made permanent and I moved departments and the team there have at least an average of another 20 years on the old one ! The only youngsters that were there have now moved floors or left so it's just us oldies left ! I've been on sick leave for a couple of weeks too and am mailing them and trying to get work done and they keep telling me it's quiet there without me - now I'm not too sure if that's a good thing or not !!!!

This is a nice post. I've had the pleasure of working with some very nice people. Out of all the jobs that I've had, I keep in contact with people from each of them. I hope my prospective new job will have the kind of people you work with.
