Crazy ass family
Crazy ass family
I'm not sure but I think most of us have a few crazy ass family members that we wonder about. Some may have more than other and some may have fewer than others.
Last night I was talking to an older lady friend of mine and we got onto the topic of our family and the odd stuff they do.
As for my family my dads side is the cool side or the family tree with no broken branches. Yes we are a wild bunch and if you get us all together you'd better bring some depends with you.
Because with this crew you never know what is going to be said or done at the dinner table. Nothing totally wacko or rude just funny as hell.
Some of the stories that I've been told about my Uncle you just sit back and say. "No shit he did that?" Or the popular "Oh my god how did he survive that?"
Just so you know what I'm talking about, as a kid he put cat paw prints on the wall and half way across the ceiling of my grandparents house. Just for grins, and denied doing it!
Now that is messed up! Makes you wonder where this stuff comes from? God I love him for his humor and his never ending stories.
Then I have one Aunt who is the coolest lady I know and who I'm closer to than my own mom. We can talk about anything and everything and nothing at all and have a great time doing it.
She has talents like I only wish I could have. I have a painting she did of me as a young kid that is one of my top prized items that I own.
At times I think her and my uncle are having a contest to see who can get married the most times before they die. I think my uncle is up by one as of this date.
Then you have my Dad and Step-mom who I can honestly say are two of the greatest people I know. I have gotten some of the best advice from my dad that a son can get.
At times he's told me things that I thought were crazy but followed the suggestion, guess what he was right. My step-mom is one of the coolest ladies I know and I'm glad that she's around to keep my dad in check.
Now my dad is a sly joker and not as crazy as my uncle or aunt but just as funny no doubt. The things that he comes up with still amaze me after all these years.
My step-mom is a relaxed lady who can keep up with the best of us and never miss a thing. She's also one of the best cooks I've ever known so you know she's in my list of people I wanna visit.
But then we got to my Mom's side of the family. Now don't get me wrong I love them all and I do respect them but dang sometimes I do wonder about them.
I have one Aunt who I haven't seen in close to twenty years and wouldn't know her if she walked passed me.
Another Aunt who is a die hard alcoholic and just can't get a clue that shit happens and life goes on. She's wrecked more cars than I've owned in my life time.
I have a step sister that is three years older and I have nothing in common with. Hell she got married and I didn't find out about it until a visit to my moms new house over Christmas vacation.
I think the topper of them all is my Mom and Stepfather. I have tons of great stories but I'll just focus on this one from a few months ago.
I'm a proud dad of four kids, tow of each who are the best things that have ever happened to me.
Well my ex-wife has my oldest daughter and every so often I get to see her for a short time. Well Mrs. Cat and I figured that being that we were going to have her for a few days and we were in the area we'd let the grandparents seen the only grandkids for a little while.
I'll not make you suffer with the details of all the speeches given to my 15 year old daughter about sex, drugs and making sure to go to college be the GP's.
What got me was during the entire visit we just never felt like a family nor as someone that was cared about. Now I know this may be hard to understand but it's the way we felt.
Mrs. Cat walked around the new house that mom and Stepfather had just got and never saw ONE photo of any of us.
Not one photo of me the oldest kid nor a single photo of any of the four grandkids. Now this is in a 3000 square foot house, but yet tons of photos of my Stepsister and Half sister.
Now how messed up is that? Yes we have send photos of the kids to them over the last ten years and yet not a one any place in the house.
When it comes to this side of the family tree I know that I'm on my own and have no worries about anyone.
I have figured out that they just don't give a rip about us but yea act as if they do. Sad as it sounds I honestly don't care any more about what they think of us any more.
As I said this is just one story that I have and if I ever do go to an open mike night at the local comedy club I always have material about the shits they've done during my life time.
Ok time for this cat to sign off and get to bet so I can get up and go to work again. If you read this let me know if this is normal or do I have one of the goofiest families on this planet.
Fritz the cat.

I know what you mean, you are not the only one ot go through this kind of mess. With my family its the opposite though, my mom's side is great and I try to see them as often as possible its my dad's side of the family that I have trouble with. Grandparents are great a little standoffish at time but I think that is mostly how they grew up and their age. No one even knows how old grandmother actually is, its a closely guarded secret. My dad's brother is even more stand offish, but we think he just lives in another world most of the time. We don't even spend time with them any more, it used to be the big deal to go see them on christmas eve but its not longer something we do the family just does not really like eaach other anymore. So don't think you are alone I am pretty sure that we all have the sides of the family that we get along with and sides we think are just messed up.|
