What did you want to be when you grew up.

I used to hate the question "what do you want to be when you grow up?" when I was growing up. I probably would have gotten "lines" for saying the truth: divorced and lonely.

I always made the appropriate serious face and said the proper thing like "carpenter" since my dad was one, or "work in the city" since that was assumed because of my grades.

I never planned on being a mathematician even though I loved mathematics all through school. I was busy working on an industrial management degree and I had enough credits to finish a math degree.

But what did I really want to be when I was in school: lead guitarist in a rock band like Pete Townsend or Brian May.

So what did you really want to be when you grew up.

A meteorologist. Seriously. I was always amazed by how the weather controls our lives in some ways. I wrote like a 9 page paper on wind in 3rd grade. LOL

Of course, like most english guys, I also wanted to play prefessional football when I grew up. For me, it would have to be at a club called Tottenham Hotspurs. I was close to making it but just could not get to the level needed to play at a top club.
