Return of the funny speaking guy

Questions have been raised in Parliament as to whom I most sound like when I open the big English gob.

So which well known Englishman do I sound most like that many of you will know?

I posed this question to my oldest daughter and the answer that came back was ................

*************************************************
Jason Statham of Cellular, The Transporter,

Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels fame.
*************************************************

According to madam, it is the growl, the accent and the general attitude. Gary Oldman was also mentioned by her.

Work that accent! Yeah! I have been known to be a sucker for the foreign accent. It's terrible. I shouldn't be, but there it is. I have no idea who Jason Statham or Gary Oldman are. Would you hold it against me if I ended that last sentence with a preposition? Why do I get self conscience about grammar around the British? Sheez. I think I have watched My Fair Lady too many times.

I agree with Missy973. Something about certain accents just make me crazy, but in a good way. I'm a definite sucker for British, Australian, Irish & Scottish accents... they make me want to do all kinds of naughty & nasty things!

Missy,

Jason Statham is probably best known in this country as Handsome Rob in the remake of the Italian Job. He has a very strong London accent and a very sardonic delivery. He also has a great stare down and scowl.

Gary Oldman is actually from my home area. He started off in Sid and Nancy. But he is in a lot of independent films and changes his accent all the time.

I think what both of you need is a good night down at the pub where you can test all the different accents from the UK. I have friends there from Glasgow, North London, South London, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast. All have vastly different speech patterns even if they only grew up 20 miles apart.

Jason and Gary, both! High marks indeed...

Now, if I can just get you to conjecture on life in a box, my wet dream will be complete. (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead anyone?)

Lyoness, I think that Jason would definitely be your type of guy. I would say go get him, tiger. But a go get him Lyoness would be so much more appropriate.
