Full Speed Ahead and Damn the Torpedoes

Here I am, minding my own business (all good Irish stories start this way), happily hydroplaning my way along Interstate 5 in Portland in my Ford Ranger and what should I spy coming up behind me in the rain?

I wasn’t sure at first but as it loomed larger in the rear view mirror, I could see that it was a large boat and I couldn’t be sure, but it sure looked like it was made of Lego.

And as it bore down on me, fog horn blaring and smoke pouring from its funnel, I could see a bustier clad, gorgeous Viking-like blonde woman at the helm, muscled arms controlling the wheel with ease. A crew of what looked like firemen was braced on deck.

I knew at once, it was tillerbabetillerbabe. She had finished her ark. She was heading south away from the rain: pillaging and plundering in search of that elusive sunlight.

So, if you live in the I5 corridor, be on the look out for a Lego boat crewed by some of Seattle’s finest and helmed by a fiery blonde fury: approach at your own peril. Your best bet will be to just give her what she wants and allow her to sail off into the sunset.
