Cures for insomnia

I have severe insomnia. Not only do I not get a lot of sleep, what sleep I do get is not very restful.

I first got insomnia like this 10 years ago when I worked graveyard for 3 years. I have never slept well since.

Does anyone have any ideas what can help?

A nice cup of Chamomille tea and a drop or two of lavendar essential oil on your pillow. If all else fails OD on the lavendar scents all over the home (bath, bedroom, everywhere. It's a great natural way to easy tension and make the body drowsy.

You have just described my own sleep pattern for the past 10+ years. Amazingly, the few times I've slept all night I was not at home. Two of those were while being held during an entire night of sleep by a male friend. Body pillows just are NOT the same.

As soon as you figure out the cure, please let me know. I often function on 3-5 hours of restless sleep day in and day out, and it takes its toll after a while.

Sleep is wonderful.
I sleep like a champ.
Exercise, valerian root and a stress free life.
Should all else fail try 5mg of ambien.
