You can love me,
but only I can make me happy.
You can teach me,
but only I can do the learning.
You can lead me,
but only I can walk the path.
You can promote me,
but I have to succeed.
You can coach me,
but I have to win the game.
You can pity me,
but I have to bare the sorrow.

For the gift of love
is not a food that feeds me.
It is the sunshine that nourishes
that which I must harvest myself.
So if you love me,
don't just sing me your song.
Teach me to sing.
For when I am alone I will need the melody.

- D. Baker

I love that...it's all about being "complete" andnot needing another to be "completed." So very kewl.

Silky, it's always been my very favorite.

...with perfect harmony, Bard?

Tiller...and keeping enough of that person deep in your soul that they're with you even if not in a physical sense.

The quiet eloquence of this piece could ne easily overlooked. It's profound in it's simplicity.

Ahhh.. poetry corner. I see your simplicity and raise you a mystery.

Can't live without food,
Can't see in the dark,
Can speak without water,
Can't follow the mark.

Can't grow without freedom,
Can't reach for the sky,
Can't think without out question,
Can't hate and not cry.

Can dance without music,
Can sing without song,
Can craw without pencil,
can write without wrong.
