The Vibe

Interesting facts about woman’s best friend.

- Vibrators are made in a multitude of shapes and from a variety of different materials. The main difference between a dildo and vibrator is the "buzz"…vibrators vibrate and dildos do not.

- Vibrators, powered by electric current, battery, foot pedal, water turbine, gas engine or air pressure, were first invented toward the end of the 19th century to automate a function doctors had long performed for their "hysterical" female patients…relieving sexual tension through "vulvular" massage.

- While doctors used vibrators for a variety of non-sexual purposes, it soon became evident that the device was particularly useful for treating "female ailments" or "hysteria," both of which we refer to today as "sex drive."

- Vibrators can go practically anywhere! Just remember 3 cardinal rules:
1. Always use lubricant.
2. Use a condom if you are using your vibrator for vaginal and anal play, and change the condom between each kind of play.
3. Only anally insert toys with a flared base. If your vibrator is narrow, don't risk losing it in your lower intestines…use it for external anal play only.

- While you can store your container in the cool, dry location of your choice, it's best to remove the batteries between each use. You'll not only prolong the life of your batteries, but also reduce the chance that a leaky battery will ruin your toy.

- Because the vibrator was intended for external use and was not manufactured with a phallic shape until well into the 20th century, it could be marketed in many "respectable" women's magazines. Today, all kinds of magazines carry advertisements for vibrators and other sex toys.

- Believe it or not, just because a toy says it's waterproof doesn't guarantee that it's safe to use in the water. Open the bottom of the vibrator and examine the area between the battery and battery cover. If you see a rubber ring, your toy is safe for use in the pool, hot tub, bathtub or other body of water. If not, keep things safe and dry!

- Vibrators are made from just about any kind of material, with wonderfully different results. Hard materials, such as plastic, transmit vibrations very well. However, softer materials, such as jelly or latex, and realistic materials add elements many people enjoy.

- Never share any kind of sex toy unless you use a condom or clean it thoroughly before you share. It's easier just to use a condom, but don't forget to change the condom when the toy changes partners!

Hysteria? LMAO - DT

If I I died and was reincarnated as a vibrator I hope I would be owned by someone as caring as you are with your toys.

I am not dead yet

Years ago I had some friends of mine that were nurses down at Parkland, in Dallas. I heard of more then one story about the toys and vibrators that got away from the users. Yes you want to make darn sure you have a good grip on the subject.

Have you ever seen the movie "The Road to Wellville"? There is a scene where someone goes to see a local doctor who is known for his treatments. She comes out of his office completely unglued.

You left out one important piece of info: what's the difference between different models? My old man and I can never agree on which one to get so we never get one.

Much love from your favorite Las Vegas native!!
