What to do...what to do?

Have you ever received an email from someone and you find that just about everything "works" except for some detail you can't get past?

Today I received an unblogworthy email (i.e. a polite, clean, normal one - LOL ) from someone who comes across as being a nice, educated guy. What's the problem, you ask? It's not his problem. It's all ME, baby.

He attached some pictures (no dick ones - yay!) and it appears that he has got the body of an Adonis. Those photos absolutely intimidated me. I'm not exactly rocking the body of a Destiny's Child or an Angelina Jolie.

I would hate to meet up with this person one day and have to see the crushing disappointment in his eyes when he gets a good look at little Ms DCE. (I am very aware of how neurotic I sound, by the way. At least I'm honest about it! LOL )

As of this writing, I haven't responded to Mr. Adonis's email. I've been too busy wringing my hands.

This week, I also received a couple emails from guys who have big red Xs in the race category. That indicates to me that I am not what they'd generally consider "their type", so I'm not sure how to respond to them either.

Given the area I live in, I'd be paranoid about a guy losing his grip on his dry cleaning and having a pointy white hat drop out on the sidewalk. LOL

All joking aside, if anyone has had similar experiences or just feels like throwing his or her two cents worth in, go for it.

As always, I like to see how fellow bloggers' minds work.

Happy Friday, by the way!

I have been approached by a few adonis like men myself. I decided that since I don't hide that I'm not perfect, and they emailed me, not me them, that they must be interested despite the fact that I'm not Aphrodite. Go for it. Life's too short to spend it living with regrets.

I get kind of suspicious when perfect looking men write to me too. I kind of wonder what would they want with me? I went out with this Greek guy a couple of times that was so good looking that our (male) waiter was flirting with him. I guess he thought I was a 'beard'

You have pictures in your profile, and he wrote to you. So chances are he wouldn't be disappointed.

The only problem with perfect bodies is that thier owners tend to be obsessed with them. This never makes for a well rounded individual.I wont say all are like that , but be aware of it.As for seeing them the above advice is sound. It wont do ant harm to probe them further.lol

Thanks for sharing Ana and Hourglasses -

I'll let you know what I decide after I've mulled things over for a little while longer.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that other good stuff, right? LOL

I am friends with a couple who are both very body conscious. I have had to endure their "suggestions" of what I ought to be doing with mine which makes me want to do the exact opposite (I will never give up dessert. Never!)

If they were into threesomes, they'd be all over Mr. Adonis, I'm sure. LOL

Like you said, not everyone is like that. I hope, anyway...

Hey, watch what you say about my little town. Though there are some rural pockets even I speed through .

If Mr. Adonis was looking for the perfect bod, he'd be at Gold's, not here.

Tell him to come on down and see what happens. Sounds good to me.

I'm just kidding with what I say about Frederick. If it was really so horrible, I wouldn't live here.

I'm an outsider, so there are a few things that I see from time to time (e.g. Confederate flag paraphernalia) that still freak me out a little. Give me another couple of years and I'll ease toward being blase. LOL

Anyway, I think I'm just about done being nervous about Mr. Adonis...

This reminds of a time, about 170 years ago, when I was a teen-ager, talking with a co-worker, an older Mexican lady, who was still kinda hot, and who I think in retrospect, had a 'thing' for me. Anyway, I was talking about this young girl, Maria, who I was infatuated with, and who I'd had zero luck with. She was trying to cheer me up, telling me not to worry, that "you're nice, you're funny, you're considerate, you have a good job, and uh," (checking me out now) "you have a *great* body and uh ..." then she looked at my face and finished, "... well, you have a great body" ...

Yep, a face for radio.

Hey, he wrote you, I can see enough of you to make a decision, so I'm sure he can, too. Besides, while he might have the Adonis-like physique, you've got the Athena-like intellect, so you're even.

I'll spare the digression into what our society seems to value higher, looks or intelligence ...

Your story reminds me of the time I was told that I was "pretty good looking for a black girl". What makes that extra funny is that a black guy was the one that made the statement!

As for what our society values higher, well, you know...LOL
