Screen Name Dealbreakers

Happy Saturday to you, wherever you are.

Ah, words.

I was sitting here thinking (I do that on occasion) about the different handles people have chosen to identify themselves on this site.

How did I choose my handle? My screen name is a combination of a nickname and a shout-out to my chocolately coating. So I don't live in DC and my name is not Ebony. I had a guy in chat say that my name was "misleading" but a quick peek at my profile would have shown him my location.

As far as screen names go, mine is pretty boring.

Since I've been on this site, I've seen a few handles that have made my mouth hang open - and not in a good or remotely sexy way.

For all intents and purposes, a person's screen name is the first impression that they make on people they meet on this site.

It's amazing what a few words tell you about the person behind the handle. Some screen names are puns, some are plain ol' names, some are occupations, some are sexually related--you get the idea.

I could go on for hours but I'll spare you the pain. It would be like Bubba from "Forest Gump" describing all of the different ways to prepare shrimp and we don't need that.

When I check my emails (as you all do), I see the person's handle before I open the actual email. I have to be honest and say that some of them are an instant cold shower. Before I've read what the person's written, I'm already turned off.

Voice of Reason: But DCE! That's unfair! You can't judge someone by a screen name.

Perhaps it is, Voice of Reason, but since when have I ever listened to you? I mean, really.

Voice of Reason: Yeah, you're right. You never do. What was I thinking? I'm going to leave now. I'll call you for lunch next week.

Just like that commerical says, "You never get a second chance to make a first impression." I don't remember what the product was, but the statement is totally true.

It's interesting that the words people choose to express themselves might have a negative effect on the people they hope to attract.

Words in screen names that make me say, "Oh no" are as follows:

cunt - Instant delete.

dick or cock - Dick or cock are usually preceded by a perceived size and/or color - as in HumongousMulattoCock.

crush, drill or pound - Yikes. I think of pain, not nekkid fun.

freaky - This is everything I said about crush, drill and pound with butt sex added in. Freaky seems to be all about the butt and I'm not having it.

meat - Why would someone refer to themselves as "meat"? That gives me the ickies.

pussy - The sender is always a genius at oral.

nasty - See "freaky".

4 and/or U - I blame Prince. You know, I think he may be the father of text messaging!

Well, I've done all the talking.

What do you think? Do you have any dealbreaking words?

If your handle is FreakyCuntPoundingBigCockPussyPleaser4U, you don't have to answer.

lol - was looking at the mail in mailbox this morning and just shook my head over some of the handles, not to mention the least attractive pictures they use with them. Happy Saturday to you.

DCE, I agree completely. I've been thinking about this subject lately. Seems like all the cum, cock, pussy, lickers have been writing to me lately.

On a side note; I think one of the BEST handles on this site is HungLikeATicTac. I saw it years ago, I think it's inactive now, but made me laugh my ass off.

Have tongue, will use it. Repeatedly.

my dealbreaker - cum, spelled that way. Loved Daphne's example, btw. That one I would answer immediately.

Yeah, I'm still [blog 1hotwahine]

For some reason, this one is a huge turn off for me - DickTurgid. I know its not even the most disgusting one out there, but it just somehow bothers me.

Daphne and 1hotwahine -

Ugh, yeah.

I forgot about the "cum" and "licker" guys.

When I was snooping around the site, I also saw a "slurper" and a "lapper".

Not sexy.

Now an email from Mr. Tic Tac would be worth a look just because his screen name is so funny.

If someone has a normal, funny or cool handle, I'll always check out their profile and see what he has to say.

HG -

Just reading that handle kinda grossed me out.

You're right about it not being particularly disgusting.

You can't use the word "turgid" in a screen name. Again, not sexy.

DCEbony, so you're saying that CaboWaboVHnut was cool or funny ??? Cool, thank you !!! I've wondered how many people get immediately that my handle means I'm a Sammy Hagar / Van Halen fanatic !!! Most probable just see "nut", and figure that's the main word !!! Peace !!! Cabo !!!

I personally think it shows the lack of creativity for someone people if they have to resort to the juvenile names. It seriously doesn't take all that long to sit there and think of something imaginative.

HungLikeATicTac ... now THAT is imaginative and cudos to him for thinking of that!

Lusty -

Dang! That was a perfectly good waste of Bailey's.

If we manage to get together one day, the Bailey's is on me--not on your keyboard.

When I read the "CaboWabo" part of your name, I knew you were a Hagar fan. I didn't even need to get all the way down to the "nut".

As for your observation about the word "nut", it could mean one of two things to someone reading your screen name. LOL

You have a point about the lack of creativity.

Hmmm...I wonder if that carries into other arenas...

Usually for me the Deal Breaker isn't so much the handle, but rather what's in (or not in) their profile. Professional model pictures are a dead giveaway. Also, the slew of "Prefer not to say"s in their stats tell me that something's up.

However, I do have a way of telling which are suspect emails. Generally when I get a response asking me to reply to an outside email address with a very strange handle or an odd domain (like .ru domains).

DCE !!! I honestly never thought about it like that !!! LOL !!! You would think that with my dirty mind, I would've seen that !!! I truly meant it in the fan sense, as in "I'm nuts about the band"!!! Thanks for pointing it out !!! I see you have a dirty mind to rival mine !!! Peace Miss Ebony, Cabo !!!

DC ... A few years back I was advised by a female to change the handle I used on dating sites. That name was DrSCUM. I like the name and still use it occasionally online, but for use on dating sites I have used Heartnsoul768. Once I changed my name I did get more responses. What's wrong with going to your friend and saying that last evening you went out with a Dr .... even though he was SCUM ?????

CaboWaboVHnut: First things first .. nice to see a fellow Van Halen fan here .. AWESOME!

and last but definately not least (because we save the best for last .. our headliner!) ..

DCEbony: Nice to see another Hagar and Van Halen fan as well! (I have "Plain Jane" by Sammy playing as I type this) Anyways, God I hope not! O hope he isn't that in the "arena". Then again who knows! But even if he did match up with you I bet he couldn't handle a woman like you anyways! *winks* (but I know I could! *grinz*)

Heartnsoul -

For women who once worked or still work in the medical field, the allure of dating a doctor just isn't there. We know the truth.

DrSCUM? Why, Heartnsoul, why? LOL

Remember I'm older than you, so my Van Halen era was back when David Lee Roth still had hair.

I don't mind Van Hagar, but I have a special place in my heart for old VH.

Regarding your question about me having anything in common with the dick pic guy that emailed me, the profiles said we were a match. The pictures sealed his fate.

You might be able handle me being a nice, young, wholesome Canadian boy.
