Recipe: Boredom Stew (Serves One)

Greetings, fellow Earthlings-

I was sitting here wondering why I've been so out of sorts lately and I realized what my problem is. I'm suffering from a massive case of boredom, pure and simple. (Mr. DCE and I have different ideas as to what we each consider fun, so that is definitely a contributing factor as to why I'm here.)

My best fun buddy is in Iraq and isn't going to be back for months, so you can throw a huge handful of worry and a liberal dash of sulking into the mix. (The sulking isn't for my "plight". I'm not that selfish. I just want my friend back. Now!)

You know when you were a little kid and you just flung yourself to the ground and started flailing your arms and legs? That's what I feel like doing, but I can't because flailing-induced injuries take a lot longer to heal at my advanced age.

I never thought I would ever say this, but there is only so much shopping or blogging one can do! Shocking, isn't it? LOL

If you have any boredom zapping tips that you'd like to share, it would be very much appreciated.
I'm sure I will get some amazing ideas that never ever occurred to me because I'm too busy pouting.

Having said that, I'm bored - but not bored enough to explore the possibility of random sex with strangers. Did I mention that there's a healthy dose of paranoia in the stew? LOL

Take good care and thanks for visiting.

Running naked in the woods sorta helps, but having a man chase you is even better.(in a good way, not to harm you) LOL

Visit a nude beach(pretty interesting what you see there)

Hope this helps.. Keep your chin up, it will get better....If you need to talk, yell at me in an email I usually kill boredom quickly.

I am the real deal! "Come Get Me!!!"

Tadatada...Ebony help has arrived. I have a blog addressing this very issue. Never again shall boredom prevail.

Meet me at the White Star.

We'll have one up and a birch beer, and then we can goof on people

Thank you for the suggestions, my lovelies.

After seeing what happened in London today, I have snapped out of my poutiness and now I'm just pissed off for the innocent people that were harmed!

What a world we live in, huh?

It just goes to show that we all need to find happiness where we can and all of those other cliches...

Back when I used to have free time (before my daughter was born) I used to movie-hop when I was bored: pay for the one I really wanted to see, see it first and then sneak into as many others as I could before getting caught or bored of watching movies. I've gotten pretty good at it, the only time I was ever caught was when back when South Central was in theaters. I snuck in and damn if I wasn't the *ONLY* person in the theatre, making it easy for the manager to check and realize they hadn't sold any tickets for that showing.

I also used to jump on my turntables a lot before my daughter was born. Now when I get home, I watch her and she doesn't go down until 9 most nights, ruling out that particular pastime - can't blast out my neighbors *mutter mutter mutter*

So nowadays I find myself doing one of three things; video games (although I've beaten/finished almost every one I have), Video on Demand from digital cable (very limited selection of stuff I really wanna see) or reading books. I'm currently working through The Coldest Winter Ever and a book on juicing.

You could always take all your furniture into the yard and make sculptures then charge the neighbours saying it is art! At the very least it will pass a couple of hours, at most it might earn you enough to go naked rollerblading.

Dear Stewing,
Sorry about your lover being so far away (I hope he is safe also)I am kinda ticked about the London thing also, if I had the wear-with-all I would fly over for to London for the weekend (I hope a bunch of Americans do just that) the good news is that the knucklehead who was setting off these bombs, it seems, has blown himself up.

Now about the boredom: you are pretty, smart, clever, this all adds up to you should not be bored! Can't you find a guy, just to have some fun with? Talking, coffee, movies, shopping, diner? Nothing like someone form the opposite sex to cheer ya up.

Take care gentle blogger

Sizzle - I did indeed take a look at Talldark's suggestions. I want him to try all of them first so that I can be on standby with the videocamera. He's got some better material on his blog than 80% of the shows on Comedy Central. LOL

Is it safe to goof on people in the White Star?

I don't think I could enjoy my lunch with the sizzling pain the cap in my ass distracting me. LOL

Nehesi -

Good suggestions. I am currently reading three books and maybe I wouldn't be so bored if I sat down and actually finished them all. I think that will be my project for the weekend!

Your picture is very artsy. I like the nightvision effect. It reminds me of the Paris Hilton video (minus Skanky Praying Mantis girl and Creepy Boyfriend). LOL

I do like the furniture sculpture idea. I have some fabulous lawn chairs that deserve to be moved around to the front of the house instead of being hidden away on my deck.

IPman -

Thanks for all of those compliments. I had to look behind me to see who the hell you were talking about. LOL

I don't have a lot of trouble attracting people through this profile. The problem is in the follow-through. If a guy doesn't want to make an effort beyond an IM conversation or two, I can't force him to. But I CAN do whatever I like with him in my brain. (This is the part where I do my evil laugh and thunder starts rumbling in the background. LO

Anyway, if any progress is made in DCE Land, I will be sure to share with my blogging buddies.
